The versatile left sided player will officially join the club on the 1st of July.

Colin started his career at hometown club Eastwood Town before going to Crewe Alexandra, where he made 14 appearances. During his time at Crewe he also as went on loan to a number of clubs, including Halifax Town and Macclesfield Town with whom he later signed full-time, becoming a mainstay in their squad before joining Mansfield Town.

Daniel’s pronounced his excitement of joining the Valiants after being released by the Stags (comment by Martin - he was not released by Mansfield, he rejected the offer of a new contract).

“I had a few clubs showing their interest but as soon as Micky called me I couldn’t say no because Port Vale are obviously a big club and I’ve heard a lot of good things about the club”

On his style of play Colin said:

“I’m a quick player, I like to defend and retain the ball”

On the signing Micky Adams quoted:

“We’re delighted to have him on board, lots of clubs were interested in him.

“We’ve highlighted him and tracked him all season, and we’re sure he’ll be a great asset for us.”

Winger Colin Daniel has joined West Midlands outfit Port Vale on a two-year contract.

The 26-year-old was offered a new deal by us at the end of the 2013/14 campaign, but rejected this in order to sign for Mickey Adams’ team, who finished in 9th position in Sky Bet League One last term.

Daniel, who was nicknamed Junior, made 77 appearances during a two-year stay at One Call Stadium and was a member of our title-winning squad which won the Conference Premier in 2012/13.

He scored some sensational goals for us, nine in total, including thunderbolt long-range strikes against Morecambe and Bristol Rovers respectively, towards the end of last season.

“It’s one of those scenarios where we know we’re going to lose players,” said manager Paul Cox.

“He’s signed a two-year contract at Port Vale and its very good money. Players have got to look after their own families and interests, so we wish him all the best.”

He continued: “If Junior had consistency, he’d been playing way above League One. I know that because he came through my academy at Eastwood.

“When I first sold him to Crewe, I think they had high expectations of him being another one on the conveyor belt that they would move on to the Premier League.

“But he’s still at a good age and has plenty of time to develop and enjoy the rest of his career.”

Everyone at the club would like to thank Colin for his contributions over the past two seasons and we wish him the very best of luck in his future career.

Port Vale boss Micky Adams has made his first signing of the summer by bringing in Colin Daniel from League Two Mansfield Town on a two-year contract.
The versatile left-side operator, 26, has signed subject to a medical after making 75 appearances for the Stags..
"I had a few clubs showing their interest," he told BBC Radio Stoke.
"But, as soon as Micky Adams called me, I couldn't say no because Port Vale are obviously a big club. I've heard a lot of good things about the place."
Daniel's down and up
Colin Daniel was in the Macclesfield Town side relegated from the Football League in 2010, but 12 months later, he was back in the League after helping Mansfield win the Conference Premier title.
Adams added: "Lots of clubs were interested in him. We've highlighted him and tracked him all season, and we're sure he'll be a great asset."
Daniel started his career with home town club, Eastwood Town, before moving to Crewe Alexandra, where he made 14 appearances, but was loaned out to Halifax Town, Grays Athletic and Macclesfield Town.
He made a permanent move back to Macclesfield in the summer of 2009, spending three seasons at the Moss Rose before moving on to Mansfield in 2012.
In his first season at Field Mill, Daniel was a key member of the Stags' promotion-winning team that won the Conference Premier title, and he was offered a new deal after playing 32 games this season as they finished mid-table in League Two.
Vale boss Adams, who secured defender Carl Dickinson to a new two-year deal last week, is still to sign his own new contract offer.
After much debate on the subject for several months, the 52-year-old is understood to be ready to commit himself to a new one-year rolling deal.
