Mansfield's experienced midfielder Scott Sellars has been forced to delay his return from injury until the New Year.
Sellars, whose former clubs include Newcastle and Bolton, tore ankle ligaments in the 4-2 win over Colchester on 1 November.
He has been doing remedial work for several weeks and was expected to return to full training this week with a view to possibly being available for the busy Christmas and New Year period.
But the ankle has not mended as quickly as expected and the club now face the prospect of being without Sellars for another four to six weeks.
Sellars, however, has not been idle. While youth-team boss Paul Holland has been working with new player-manager Keith Curle, Sellars has been coaching the youngsters.
