Andy Todd's reserve team produced a ruthless and accomplished performance as they recorded a fabulous 5-0 victory over Hartlepool United at Coronation Park this afternoon.

The Stags, who dominated throughout, went ahead after only four minutes as Matt Rhead volleyed home from close range following a teasing left-wing delivery from Junior Daniel.

Daniel was again the provider as Rhead doubled the advantage on 35 minutes, before youth team star Jordan Vilums added a deserved third goal shortly after the interval.

Vilums, impressive on the right-wing, then tapped home from a few yards out on the hour mark, after Pools' keeper Adam McHugh failed to hold Nick Wright's powerful shot.

Mansfield's rout of a youthful Hartlepool side was completed four minutes from time as Daniel slotted into an empty net, after Vilums' thunderous effort crashed against the woodwork.

Stags: Redmond, Sutton, Pilkington, Jones, Marsden, Vilums, Todd, Stevenson, Daniel, Wright, Rhead. Unused Subs: Flint, Jake Green, Jabbi, Birch, Ben Clark.

Hartlepool: McHugh, Rowbotham (Boagey 60), Buddle, Johnson, Holden, Hawkins, Baldwin, James (Mitchison 76), Luscombe, Rutherford (Walker 60), Poole. Unused Subs: Foden, Tuck
