A pathetic nobody on twitter on deadline day spread rumours that Matt Green would be joining Leicester for £500,000. The nature of twitter is that it is difficult to tell if users are genuine. However this was a hoax.

Leicester City and Nottingham Forest are reportedly going head-to-head to capture the signing of 25 year old Mansfield Town striker, Matt Green.

It's rumoured that both Midlands clubs have bid £500k for the Mansfield player, but with the transfer window closing in just over two hours, a deal needs to be wrapped up extremely soon.

The 6 foot striker has played for seven different teams including one year at Cardiff City during the 2007-08 season.

Green, born in Bath, has scored 29 goals in 44 appearances last season
