FA TROPHY DRAW - CHASETOWN OR MANSFIELD V LUTON
7th March 2011 11:26

FA Trophy semi-final draw

Chasetown or Mansfield vs Luton

1st leg: Sat 12 March: Chasetown or Mansfield vs Luton
2nd leg: Sat 19 March: Luton vs Chasetown or Mansfield

The game away to Crawley has been rescheduled for Tuesday March 29.
If the Stags win at Chasetown, the games on 12 March and 19 March will be rescheduled. Currently there are two free midweeks left between now and the end of the season.
If the game at Chasetown is drawn, and the Stags win the replay next Tuesday (when the Grimsby game would have to be rescheduled), the Stags would then be forced to have one week when they play TWO midweek games (presumably Sat - Tues - Thu - Sat). - Martin

Luton have never won at Field Mill in 9 attempts in League games, though have won at Field Mill in the League Cup. On the other hand, in the 10 league games played at Kenilworth Road, the Stags have only won twice. - Martin Shaw

Russ silent on Luton draw

Despite the lure of a glamorous meeting with BSBP high flyers Luton Town awaiting the winners of our Quarter Final clash with Chasetown tomorrow night, Manager Duncan Russell is not getting ahead of himself.

Although there maybe some who get caught up in the excitement of a potential meeting with one of non league's most high profile sides, the Gaffer says that he will not be one of them with Evo Stik Premier Division outfit Chasetown still blocking our path into the last four of the competition.

"I've seen the draw but I'm not bothered about Luton at the minute," he said. "My concern is tomorrow night's game and I'm not even going to talk about Luton. I take things one game at a time."

'Russ' also says that he is concerned about the prospect of more disruption to the fixture list caused by our progress in the FA Trophy but that he would still rather go all the way to the Final. The postponement of this tie originally scheduled for Saturday means that our BSBP clash away at Crawley will need to be rearranged whilst should we feature in a two-legged semi final tie against the Hatters, room will have to be made for our league games against Bath and Histon.

He added: "We were all very disappointed to see it postponed because we had built up to it and were raring to go.

"Mentally you look forward to it and to find out at the last minute that it was off was quite a blow. But, we will prepare again and have another go at it tomorrow.

"The problem starts with fixtures. If tomorrow is a draw then we will need a replay and league games start to build up. It gets messy but I would still like to get on in the competition."

In team news, 'Russ' revealed that he has a completely fit squad to choose from with the exception of central defender Rhys Day who saw a specialist last week with a tendon problem

Richard Money: "I've already said we feel we've got 18 players that are well equipped and that have good knowledge of this league and Paul is one of them.

"Now that we're through in the FA Trophyit means we've got a midweek match every week until it ends so we need all the players in the squad."

With the Hatters two legs away from aplace at Wembley in the final of the FA Trophy the boss was pleased to see his side draw either Mansfield or Chasetown in the semi-finals.

"It's a good draw for all teams involved," he said. "The last thing you want when you get to this stage is overnight stays and long distance travels.

"We know that Mansfield are one of the better sides in our division but Chasetown will have had the most difficult run of all the teams in the competition to get this far.

"They've already beaten Kettering and Grimsby so if they beat Mansfield then they will be deserved and worthy opponents."
