Mansfield Town Football Club will pay tribute to one of their greatest ever players, Sandy Pate, by renaming their supporters bar in his honour. The bar will be re-named from 'The X-Bar', which is located at the rear of the West Stand at Field Mill, to 'The Sandy Pate Bar'.

Sandy himself will be present at the official unveiling which will take place on Tuesday 5th May, starting at 7pm, prior to the Champions League Semi-Final match between Arsenal and Manchester United which kicks off at 7.45pm.

Admission is free and the club will cut beer prices to just £2 on the night. Pie and peas will also be available.

Said Chairman Andrew Perry told mansfieldtown.net: "We are indebted to players like Sandy who have played a huge part in the club's history."
