Andy Saunders told Chad: "It is extremely cold and just one of those things. It is very disappointing, but the pitch is rock hard. The pitch was perfectly playable yesterday and had the game been yesterday it would have been on. We hope to play it now as soon as possible." Read more at CHAD.co.uk here

However, it will not be re-arranged for this Tuesday. Mansfield wanted to re-arrange it to Tuesday but Alty said no as all their players are part time and have to go to work instead as it's too short notice.

Holdsworth agrees with postponement
BBC Radio Nottingham audio interview here.
Holdsworth took charge on 28 December
Mansfield Town manager David Holdsworth says he has not finished bringing new players in to Field Mill.

Holdsworth has already signed six new players since replacing Billy McEwan as Stags boss.

He told BBC Radio Nottingham: "If you lose one player at the moment it can have a harsh effect so I definitely want some more flexible players.

"We can't keep leaking goals so we've got to utilise players in the right areas. I a team who keep clean sheets."

Holdsworth also agreed that the scheduled game against Altrincham on Saturday had to be postponed because of a frozen pitch.
He said: "I don't think there was any doubt once the frost took hold. I was thoroughly looking forward to it but that's football I'm afraid."

The new Stags boss will now have to wait for his first game in charge, which will now be against Crawley on Saturday 17 January.
