--------------- Two new players - one an ex-international - for Stags on Friday? CHAD.co.uk, 19Mar2008 Full story here CARETAKER manager Paul Holland is close to signing two new players before the weekend's crunch relegation games. He said on Wednesday that he was hopeful of securing the signatures of two players on loan for the busy Easter programme of two matches in three days. One of his targets is a former international currently in the Championship. Holland is in discussions with the two players and hopes to have them both at Field Mill by Friday. The caretaker manager, given this weekend's matches to clinch the manager's job on a full-time basis yesterday, told mansfieldtown.net: "We cannot rest on our laurels. "I feel it is right that I bring these two players in to try and freshen things. These players will give everyone a real lift." The Stags, with just one draw and nine defeats from their last 10 home matches, entertain Grimsby on Saturday and then visit Bury on Monday - two matches which could prove vital in the relegation fight. |
