Boulding handed 18th goal of season

STAR striker Micky Boulding has been credited with his 18th goal of the season - without kicking a ball!
A few hours after the Stags' 3-2 home defeat to Brentford, it has been revealed that Mansfield's first goal has now been officially awarded to the talisman forward.

Boulding's 15th minute header was deflected into the net by Nathan Elder - later to be the matchwinner - and the breakthrough was given as an own goal by the Press Association and the matchday announcer.

However, according to Mansfield Town's official website mansfieldtown.net referee Jon Moss has ruled that the ball was going into the net anyway, regardless of the deflection.

That takes Boulding's tally for the season in all competitions to 18 goals.
