WHITE: I'M HOPING FOR A TWO-YEAR CONTRACT
Evening Post, 25 April 2007

Jason White expects his contract situation to be clarified once Mansfield Town have secured their League Two safety.

After Wrexham's shock win at Shrewsbury last night, the Stags still need a point from their remaining two games to ensure their League Two survival.

White wants a two-year deal after playing most first team games in 2006-2007. He knows manager Billy Dearden's hands have been tied in organising contracts because the club have not known which division they will be in next season. He said: "It is understandable things have been a little bit up in the air because we still aren't safe."

White was axed after a mistake which led to the first goal in the 2-0 defeat at Peterborough. But after one game on the sidelines he was recalled at Swindon.

White said: " I had dropped off my performances in the couple of weeks before that, but I managed to pick it back up and hopefully I can now continue it through to the end of the season."
