Meanwhile, County can confirm they have not received any formal offer from Mansfield Town for Matty Hamshaw.

Sunday's 'League Paper' reported that the Stags have made an approach to take the 23-year-old on loan for the rest of the season with a view to a permanent deal.

But County Chief Executive Kevan Taylor told stockportcounty.com there had been no contact at all from the Field Mill club.

He said: "I was surprised to read Sunday's article because we have not received any enquiry for Matty either formal or otherwise from Mansfield Town."

The League Paper:
Stags eye Hamshaw
Mansfield have launched a surprise swoop for Stockport midfielder Matt Hamshaw.
It is an audacious enterprise considering the two clubs are locked together in a fight for survival in the Football League and Hamshaw is widely regarded as Stockport's star performer.
But the former Sheffield Wednesday player will be eager to move his career back up a gear, putting pressure on County's desire to keep him.
Mansfield boss, Peter Shirtliff, another former Wednesday player, wants to sign Hamshaw on loan for the rest of the season with a view to a permanent deal.
The League Paper understands an approach has already been made.
