ADAM MURRAY SENT OFF FOR ENGLAND U20

Adam Murray started for England U20 side against Poland, after coming on as substitute against China in the previous game in the Toulon tournament.
He had a very solid game, and came within a whisker of giving England the lead in the first half when he just failed to connect with a free-kick across the box. I felt he was just about the best player on show, but after England had taken the lead, disaster struck when Murray was given a straight red card on 65 minutes. In truth it looked the correct decision to me as Murray lunged in with a two-footed challnge, though the Eurosport commentators felt it was harsh. England hung on to win 1-0. Murray misses England's next game on Sunday, but would be eligible for the game against Brazil on Tuesday. Martin |
