CURLE: I HAVE LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF MY FIRST YEAR
1st December 2003 22:27

Having taken over at Field Mill on 3 Dec 2002, Keith Curle has told mansfieldtown.net today : “It has been a steep learning curve making the transition from player to manager and there have been aspects of the job I wasn't expecting. Stuff like decorating changing rooms and other jobs that I see as part of my job to bring calm and confidence to my team. It has been hard work, there are times when you are on a real high and other times when things might not be going your way, it feels like the most lonely job in the world but I have loved every minute of it and still believe that I have enough quality in the changing room to earn promotion this season and make a stand next”
Talking of the forthcoming FA cup game against Tony Adams' Wycombe side he said:
“We know that we are capable of taking the game to Wycombe and have played in front of TV Cameras before so this shouldn't be an issue. I have told the lads that the FA Cup is a great opportunity for clubs like us to make a name for ourselves. You have to play teams like Bishop's Stortford because if you get through them and progress to the higher rounds like Wycombe and get through that who knows where the journey will end. The lads are up for the challenge and I know they will give 100% on the day”
