CURLE REACTION
15th November 2003 18:15

It was a professional job. I made sure the mindset was right. We had to earn the points, but as long as we gave 100% I knew we had enough. It was frustrating at half time, but the pleasing thing was that all 4 set plays we had in the first half, we got a head to.
The attitude of the players was first class. One disappointment was it was my birthday yesterday and not one of the players sent me a card!
We needed defensive qualities today perhaps a bit more than Macca can offer, but if we needed someone to open them up then he would be first one I choose. He accepted the decision well when I told him on Friday.
Tom and Lee matched Carlisle all the way, and their quality showed through.
I´ve got a belief that we can get into the second division.
At the minute a few laces are coming undone (of the others) and we´re striding!
Iyseden reported in with illness so we thought it best for him not to travel.
I spoke to the players on Thursday and said that the next 6 games could be vital.
The preparation was absolutely spot on, even though we had to spend 6 hours on the road yesterday because of traffic problems.
The chairman´s come on board and trusts me and knows I won´t waste a penny and it was right to travel up and stay in a hotel yesterday.
