WHITE`S A HIT AT HARRIERS

WHITE'S A HIT AT HARRIERS
Evening Post, 05 November 2003

Stags striker Andy White has joined Division-Three Kidderminster Harriers on a two-month loan.

The 21-year-old frontman made his debut for Jan Molby's side on Saturday in a 2-2 draw at home to Cambridge United.

And he set up a goal and received rave reviews from the Harriers' boss.

It is the second time he has gone on loan this season following an unsuccessful month at Boston, where he failed to score and ended up not getting on the bench.

But Curle believes this move will improve his game and give him valuable experience as he is down the pecking order of Mansfield strikers.

Curle said: "Andy has been sent out there to get his match-sharpness and further his career rather than being third or fourth choice here."

But the Stags boss added that a permanent move was not on the cards and the big striker was very much still part of his plans for this season.

"I think any suggestion of a permanent deal is a long way off," he said.

"Andy has gone there for the next two months purely to get some match practice."
