Lee Angol doesn't feel the move to Grimsby is right for him.

If Lee stays, it gives me the chance to work with him and improve him. We will work on that body language, and him running in behind more. He's a talented player. Find that consistency in him.

Why isn’t it the full conference ?

He sees Angol 100% as I do , player in there somewhere but do we have time to bring it out of him.
Poor body language makes it look like he don't care but very talented.
These are my opinions , if you don't like them I have others...

I've transcribed what David Flitcroft said on Lee Angol:
"I spoke to Lee on Sunday. Lee doesn't feel the move to Grimsby is right for him. Once you accept a bid, the player has to feel right about that move. He's got a contract here. So he's turned the move down, which he's got the right to do. So if Lee stays, it gives me that chance to work with Lee, and improve him, like we're trying to do with all the players. If Lee embraces what we're doing, we work on that body language, and we work on him running behind and getting in that box ... because he's a talent ... then I do believe that we'll have a good season with him. I've got to make him become that number 9 that absolutely leads the line for Mansfield Town, and give our supporters what they deserve from Lee. So that's probably a longer term project than I've had with him up to now. And get that consistency, find that consistency in him. That's something that, if he doesn't end up going, I've got to work with Lee on that, and Lee's got to work with us, to keep improving him."

It's the same principle as match videos.

If you want to see full 20 minute highlights with pitchside footage, or even watch a re-run of the full 90 minutes, you have pay a subscription for the service. If you are happy just seeing the goals and one or two other clips, they are free.

If you want to see the full video interviews, you have to pay the subscription. If you're happy with a couple of minutes of each interview, that is free.

Its an open press conference ? That’s a ridiculous money grab.

open as in Mark Stevenson, John Lomas and Jake Garner, yes.

I'm sure there will be plenty of people who agree with you. Commentary should be free, interviews should be free to watch, highlights should be free. And I can understand that point of view. But they're not. However, I hope that those who subscribe to iFollow think they get a good service.

It’s completely open source. It’s not a match where licencing applies to viewing.

I am pleased he is staying, you can't ignore his strike rate.

Call it old fashioned but; show the boss what you can do in training, bide your time your chance will come, when it does grab it with both hands, make it impossible for the boss to drop you.

I don't think Lee Angol is necessarily staying. He just does not want to go to Grimsby

Nothing in life is free unless someone is being very generous.

You are 'free' to go to the press conference and film and transmit it for nothing if you wish and that will only cost you your time and the cost of the equipment used. When someone else does that, they have invested in the product and it is reasonable that they have control over what they have produced. If they chose to give it away fine but if they chose to re-coupe some of their investment why should we complain.

There is a cost to everything that is not produced naturally so we should never expect anything for nothing unless we are prepared to produce it for ourselves.

Thank you Martin for the things that you do generously give away to us and I for one am grateful for what I receive at no cost to me.

Im a long standing fan of Stags for the last 55 yeats and every time I see these kind of comments I'm even more convinced that it was a great day when Evans left and we appointed Flitcroft. So much more care, thought and consideration in his approach. (Contast this to the squalid childish antics of Evans recent attempts to get Rose on the cheap). So far a trully professional approach. Just need to deliver, which I believe we can based on how the teams developing.
Its great to see him considering the youth. Personally I wish he had gone with Gibbens but you can't blame any manager for playing the percentages. After all it is their livelyhood at risk if they're wrong.

Seems DF is a real thinking man and for that he deserves credit.
He was correct to bring in Ryan Sweeney as there will be injuries and suspensions and Gibbens will get some game time I am sure.
Agree Angol will probably go but would prefer a better club and more nearby.
If Angol wants to get his persona or image and body language right just look at Walker Khan and Macca when they are about.

Mansfield Town could see late scramble of ins and outs before transfer window closes
chad.co.uk, by JOHN LOMAS, Tuesday 07 August 2018

Mansfield Town boss David Flitcroft believes there could be a late scramble before the transfer deadline window slams shut at 5pm on Thursday. Ahead of Saturday’s trip to Yeovil Town, Stags could have four players going out and two or three coming in if last minute deals get struck.

“This is my 12th season in coaching and management and you just never know what’s going to happen,” said Flitcroft. “I am envisaging a bit of a scramble. We will take it as we see it.”

As far as I'm aware it's just the press who can go to them & you can't just turn up for them.
