"The Derbyshire Times understands that the club have hit a sticking point in their negotiations with record wage earner O’Grady, whose two year deal was reportedly worth £3.5k a week to the striker before relegation."

Interestingly its two teams invited to play in the Scottish cup.

Does that mean after relationships have been built between the conference and scotland over a few years - the top two teams in Scotland will be invited to come and play in the conference.

It’s the SPFL Cup, their equivalent of the EFL Trophy, not the Scottish Cup.

And technically there were two English teams in it last year, Berwick and TNS (who play in the Welsh League but are based in Shropshire).

That's hilarious, honestly sounds so embarrassing. What's coming next?

What's embarrassing about it?
It's novel. And his approach may just be what's required to bring the fans back closer to the club.
I think it would be papering over the cracks but it certainly makes me smile, which hardly anything in football ever does anymore.
i would prefer not to.

It's embarrassing because of how unprofessional it looks and sounds. Your manager announcing a kick off time has changed because his Mrs is doing a swim (all for a good cause) but still, I'd expect that from a Sunday league team

Imagine if DF released a statement on the stags website with something similar, would you be saying the same?

Can't see why he'd do an interview about the fixtures. What's he going to say? The fixtures aren't important till t'season starts. What is important is him getting another couple (at least) of quality players in to play in said fixtures or we'll again not win enough of em and fall short.

Agreed. It's Martin Allen all over. He's a dying breed, an entertaining Manager who says what he thinks. Once he's gone we'll be left with the boring mundane ones who come out with all the usual cliches.

Lionel Richie was at The Prozac tonight.
A Premier League performance on a non-league pitch.

The best performance that place will see for a long time.
Overheard many conversations tonight from their fans about their gloomy season ahead.

A very pleasent night.
