If Carl Gabbitas is on holiday does he leave the gate keys with Jon Sleigh so he can lock up for him?

His intelligence wasn’t up to much for the Accrington game.

Took ages getting car out of car park with all the hundreds of Derby fans walking behind the west stand and out onto quarry lane.

If all the moaners would accept the consequences of a serious injury due to fans clashing ,this would be a valid point ,but no they just keep moaning as if trouble never happens if it does its never there fault

Re: comments such as the one above... There are some proper health and safety snowflakes on this site. At most other grounds everyone is free to walk around the ground after the match.

If you listen to all the health and safety advice out there you would not have left the house today for fear of being instantly incinerated

I think closing the gate for 20 minutes at full time for these friendlies is setting a precedent of what we can now expect every home game next season. The plod will deem it a success and have an excuse to lock it for 20 minutes at FT when we're at home to the likes of Yeovil and Morecambe.

I hear PC Gabbitas is itching to use his arc welder that he had for his birthday.

With an away following of just 400 and a crowd of 2000 maybe common sense prevailed in the end!

When leaving for game yesterday checking if there was a official tweet whether the gate was going to be closed which there was not.
So at the end of game when leaving i looked to the gate and Newport fans were coming through ,so me and my son started walking towards the gate when suddenly 1 of the police men put the padlock back on stopping Stags fans passing through.

once again the police making there own rules up to suit there own purpose.

i ask a officer what was going off and simply did not want to give and a answer .,
I did let him know what i thought,

Make an official complaint. What’s the point of locking the gate if they’re letting opposition fans through ?

The club retweeted Gabbitas saying the gate would be closed

Couldn't believe that this thing was shut yesterday with only a handful of Taffies in the North. It can be a real pain in the harris.

The police presence yesterday was way OTT for the level of away support.

Father in law commented there were more police officers in North stand than away fans. I understand why the gate needs to be closed for big games, but Newport? We had to wait 20 minutes as he can't make it all the way round Quarry Lane. I think sometimes common sense has to prevail.

Says you, but based on what? A quick head count of coppers vs away fans?

Let's say you were the police chief, you monitor forums and social media and word is going round that a group of taffs are coming to make trouble. What do you do? Ask Sneag for a quick head count to police ratio check and deploy police based on that, with little or no regard to public safely or potential trouble... or, send 10 coppers anyway and close the gate, just in case the talk is true...

I know which id prefer when attending the game with my kids.

People on here complain about arm chair managers, but the arm chair law enforcement on here who comment about this stuff based on nothing more than a hatrid of the police is laughable.

Let's say they did bring 20 lads intent on trouble and we had 1 copper and couple of those fake ones and then someone gets hurt... you'd then be on here saying how Notts police are a joke.

There’s quite a bit of recent history between Mansfield and Newport fans over the last 7 or 8 years.

Newport’s bought there lads to Mansfield on three occasions I think.
