Mansfield Magic and Stags Fans feat Elvis Amber and Blue

Postby AlexNottsFan » Sun Oct 01, 2017 9:28 pm

First of all I should admit to supporting Notts, but I'm not here to discuss yesterday's game. No, I wanted to ask about Mansfield Magic and Stags Fans feat Elvis Amber and Blue, comfortably the two worst club anthems I have ever heard from any football club. Do you like either of those songs? I would guess no, otherwise you would sing them when they are played and during the game when we sing our Wheelbarrow Song

Why don't you want to discuss yesterday's game?

Still an improvement on singing 'I had a wheel barrow the wheel fell off ' over & over! Now that's just

What???
11 goals conceded in your last 3 visits, and you're concerned about our bloody 'club anthems'?
I'll think you'll find that hammering you numbskulls year after year is much more important
to us than worrying about Mansfield Magic on the PA.
Personally I'm not a fan of said songs, but I am a fan of seeing you lot skulk off
having being humiliated. Again.

Actually I'm lying, I am a fan of Mansfield Magic.

Hope you weren't one of the toilet smashers Alex. (2nd year running)

What is the infatuation with Notts fans and twyfords ceramic products?

I'll answer your question. Mansfield magic is not something you can sing along to, personally, I think it was pretty good in its day (written in '87 for our Freight Rover Trophy win), but is dated now. It's not meant to be sung too.

We do like and sing the Elvis song and Something Good though, they both get the crowd going before the game and work well. You should try something for your club, maybe you'll get a draw against us.

To be fair lyrics about Ian Greaves in Mansfield Magic aren't exactly relevant to a modern audience, and the song hasn't aged well

Something Good I have no problem with, seems to be the football song of the moment. We sing that with lyrics about Nolan

Nowt wrong with them songs. As others have already said Mansfield Magic is from our Wembley appearance (and victory) in '87. Happy memories and all that. I thought Notts fans liked living in the past?

As it appears to be time to be asking daft questions, then I've got one for you, Alex. Who are Notts main rivals? Forest have Derby, Stags have Chesterfield, Notts have???

You are what I call the 'silver derby'. Not just because its a reference to the age of your fans, but because our Gold derby is the Spires. Fyi lincoln is our bronze derby.

Notts & Notts (after the infighting within the away end  )

Also surprised people have brought up the wheelbarrow song as didn't hear them sing it in fairness, to be honest forest green rovers fans made more noise when they visited field mill.

It’s not even the right words.

I had a wheelbarrow, the front wheel fell off
