An easy 2-0 for the Staglattos. The Gabby Gate holding fast despite wave after wave of name-calling.

Fancy a 2.1 win.

We concede early then play like heroes to grasp victory.

Mansfield made four changes from the side that lost so disappointingly at Cheltenham. Bennett was not recovered from a virus so not 100% fit, while White was still injured. So Paul Anderson moved to right back. Anderson had played some games at right back in the Championship according to Evans. Angol was also struggling to shake off a virus and just 90% fit, so he didn’t start. In came Kane Hemmings. Alfie Potter and Alex MacDonald came in to the wide positions in midfield. Atkinson moved into central midfield. Butcher came into the side and joined him in central midfield, surprisingly at the expense of Mellis who dropped to the bench (despite being the best player at Cheltenham in my opinion).

Not playing Jacob Mellis for me says everything about how Evans wants this game to go.....after myself and the other Rob spent last week discussing the lack of style/invention from our current performances.

It doesn't look like it's going to be a football match as usual, more like a who can out-battle who match.....and County have won 6 on the spin by being able to do just that.

Hopefully our ability to bring on the quality of Mellis from the bench can be a telling factor, but so far I am not encouraged by that team choice.

Two key positions determines the outcome today in my opinion.

Anderson at right back is obviously a worry. But Butcher needs a game today. Can't afford any passengers today. Time for him to repay Evans' faith in picking him despite recent performances.
The Stags are for life, not just for cup finals. (or Liverpool).

It's reading end to end attacks on bbc after only 8 mins.
2 corners for county already both conceded by Anderson.

Refs giving a foul every 2 mins so far. Yellow card for someone soon surely.
Duffy or Rose maybe.

22'
Attempt missed. Kane Hemmings (Mansfield Town) right footed shot from the centre of the box is high and wide to the left

26'
Attempt missed. Kane Hemmings (Mansfield Town) right footed shot from the right side of the six yard box is just a bit too high.

Don't know wether to be happy he's getting chances or sad he's missing them inside the box.

Good game so far. Could be 2 or 3 nil up.

Hemmings and rose guilty of missing some good chances. Macdonald put a good effort on target from a free kick that was tipped away for a corner.

We've had the better possession. A much improved performance.

It's basically the same story. These misses that should at least be on target will cost us.

Typical derby. Midfield battle. Hemmings more effort getting in good positions, finishing woeful. Potter looked good running at County. Were not the same since he went off injured.

Not been a bad game but isn't the most exciting either. Drysdale isn't as bad as it was feared but he is giving a few iffy decisions countys way. Anderson doing well at rb. Pearce is his usual quality self but noone is really standing out from either team. Game is crying out for mellis and its seems odd he wasn't starting as he offers much more Than butcher Atkinson or hemmings.
