October points target

Postby Stags 2002 » Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:56 am

August games done and dusted, now onto September.

7 Games to go at so we'll have a clearer indication of how we are fairing come the end of it.

Carlise - Away (Draw) - result Draw
Grimsby - Home (Win)
Wycombe - Home (Draw)
Lincoln - Away (Draw)
Cambridge - Home (Win)
Cheltenham - Away (Win)
Notts County - Home (Win)

15pts would be a good return also the above results would leave us unbeaten for the month so may be a little over optimistic.

13pts from then seven games would be fine, giving us 18 in total which would put us in the play off places.

Anything over 13pts in them seven games would be brilliant.
We might win against Accrington next time.

Has 3 league goals already. Not bad for a winger. Wouldn't be surprised if he didn't get another on Saturday.

18/19 points is enough to be in the playoffs after 11 games for the past 3 years, so this is the minimum we need to be aiming for. 4 wins and a draw or two out the 7 September league games. Not easy but if we play like we did Saturday for 80 minutes we will start picking up wins

But not if the last 10 mins is the same a Sat eh!
It's a 90+ minute game. Think the job's done and relax and you get your pants pulled down. Players are too good if they're given a sniff. We found out Sat as did Clownty the day before against 10 man Accy.

I agree, and I wouldn't want him back necessarily, but when you look at it statistically - which wingers that we have had since have actually done better (or even as good as)?

After watching all seven games so far, a point a game is my guess. I hope I'm wrong.

Lincoln - Away (Draw) - result Win + 2 pts
Cambridge - Home (Win) - result Win
Cheltenham - Away (Win) - result Lost - 3 pts
Notts County - Home (Win)

First defeat of the month, however 1 pt behind the 15pts target mark and need a win on Saturday against the league leaders to achieve 14 pts.

The target for Sep was 15, with the loss last night we can now only get 14, so if we beat County we will be 1 point behind the target (set by 2002). Come one, you are supposed to be the one .......

So we finish the month on a fantastic high obtaining 14 bags of coal, only 1 point off the 15 point target I set at the start of the month. Now onto October.

Colchester - Away (Win)
Swindon - Home (Win)
Barnet - Away (Loss)
Newport - Away (Win)
Exeter - Home (Draw)

10 bags of coal predicted for the new month.

Any thoughts / expectations for October?
