a friend of mine from Kent cricket, who's part of the Charlton media team, reckons they will fill the away end (1600).

Anyone want a laugh read this. Looks like Gary Flitcroft's in for a tough time.....feel sorry for David as not the first person to think its his brother in charge

I’ve seen / been too a few Mansfield games last few seasons with a mate from Mansfield, their fans will be right up for it, Gary Flitcroft is the manager, I can’t believe how much abuse the fans give him when things are not going well, let’s hope Karlan and Lyle have got their shooting boots on!

I’ll be interested how Danny Rose (star striker) gets on for Mansfield, he wanted a move away in the summer, didn’t get his dream move, and was left out of the team at the start of the season.

Mansfield have struggled without him, and have had to bring him back in the fold, the Mansfield fans absolutely love him.

They’ve recently changed their keeper, and he looks quite decent, their defence can be got at if put under constant pressure, they do like drawing matches!

I am torn as I have a family birthday to go to in the evening, but this game means more than most.

Be prepared for plenty of C’mon you stags chants and yellows, yellows, yellows.

I was there for the home game that season. April Fools Day 1978. Attendance 6691. Lost 3-0

no direct trains from London to Nottingham that day - might have an impact on the crowd. Got to go via Peterborough.

:) 1st thing what comes to mind when i think of Charlton is Alan Curbishley , always thought he was a good player and who also went on to manage them.

I remember going to the old valley for the league cup tie. We were 4-0 down with what seemed to be about 5 minutes to go , then we started scoring.

We managed to get three but just couldn't get the equaliser.

Can you find the chad report to confirm minutes of the goals, martin.

Went to the Valley in 77-78 season. Incredibly impressed by that towering open terrace that used to run down one side of t'ground, must've looked terrific full in it's heyday. We played well that day. I went on my old Suzi 125 and as I'd not passed my test couldn't use M1 or A1M. The days before satnav and using a road map meant it was a proper adventure. Remember getting home about 10ish.

See Alfreton have drawn Fleetwood at home. I can remember when Fleetwood were in the Conf North and Alfreton was a big day out for them. I remember also they beat Alfy in the p/o's to go up to the Conf in 09/10. Be nice for them to get revenge n I'll go to the Impact if it's on the Sunday. That's provided our game is on Sat of course.

Just had a look on the Charlton forum, their fans think the manager will play the u23s as to focus on the league.

Apparently we are on the sunday at 12.45 for the overseas tv market? On Stags twitter, £15 a ticket though and £10 for U18s.

Wonder how much money we get for that? Because that’s a gate killer.

Kicking off at 12.45 on a sunday is better than a 3pm KO on a Saturday?

Never mind it being a gate killer, it clashes now with the commemorations of the Centenary of The Armistice.

This is a bad call all round.
