He left us because he believed we were already in the play offs and he believed he could get peterborough in the play offs. Long story short he saw an opportunity to claim he got 2 sides in playoffs and/or promoted in one season.
You cannot underestimate this guy's ego.
Possibly. We were almost certain of promotion, or at worst a playoff, so he had that in the bank. Although Posh were unlikely to follow suit last season, the temptation to move to his home town club and work with a bigger club would have been irresistible. And it should have been two successes in two seasons, assuming Peterborough make it this time.
You are never certain of anything until you'vd cross the line. Teams can easily run into a bad series of results as we did. Maybe the desire to manage at his "dream club", was too much, but the way he left the club for me says a lot about the way he goes about things. Total disrespect for JR, CR, the players, especially the ones he signed and not forgetting us as supporters.
As Edders has quite rightly pointed out, hate is a strong word. I don't hate him, I just think he has been bad for our club. He was full of praise for the Radfords when he was spending their money. But his spend, spend, spend formula is still impacting on the club. We have three highly paid players who will do diddly squat for us this season.
At one point I was warming to him, even to the point, of thinking the bad press was unjustified. But I think a lot of it is justified. He is not disliked because of the promotions but for other reasons.
I agree his results for Peterborough are impressive so far. But he is following the same pattern, by praising the owner ( he got his full wish list, which may be a little dig at JR, who knows ), whilst spending his money.
The "scattergun signings" have worked so far, but it's early days.
