And that there is the very reason why we have 13:00 kick offs because of the small minority of “fans” behaving like that

Was gutted to miss last night but a combination of moving house and it being a ball ache to get to from manchester did for me.

Really encouraged by the performance of the lads. The manager and the team now need to start showing this in the league, as opposed to the very average fare on show so far this season.

It’s in there, we can see it. Just start doing it

Very embarrassing considering we had the large contingent of black and Asian fans we had at the game last night. I'd assume most of these were friends and family of our players, which makes you wonder how thrir post match chats went.

Other than the usual few idiots the support last night was great and the performance on the pitch was excellent too. We were ultimately undone by that extra yard (or 5) of pace they had and that sharper movement. As with all the PSFs though, there didn't look a 2 division gap in class.
Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.

We were sat 30-40 yards to the right of the 'knuckle dragger's with Pearce's and Bennings family, none of the racist stuff was heard by us, it didn't carry as it was a small minority.
Stop making headlines for a very small minority, we know who they are, don't give them the air time

Was going to start a thread on this today, so glad to see it wasn't just me who was embarrassed and offended by the bigots in our support.
The irony of it was that they immediately followed it with a chant about CJ but I guess that just went over their heads as well.
I stopped to chat to one of the stewards on the way out and apologized for it, assuring him that the racist minority did not speak for all of us.

They are a shambles, a little band of oldish teenagers, joined in their chants by a couple of old men who have never changed.
Engerland, Ingerland, was equally embarrassing....why do they do it?!
The support was fantastic, yet this term removed we have associated with us (particularly when Malvinder Singh Benning has loads of family and friends there supporting him and us in our support) continually shame our club. 'That's just embarrassing'....how apt.

On the playing side, fantastic stuff esp the last 20 minutes, how can they be so different to Sat?

An 18 year old Grimsby fan has been charged with racial abuse following their match on Saturday. He was reported to the authorities by fans of his own club who have supplied the evidence to support the charge.

That's how you stop it.

Yes it is. If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem. People need to stand up and if that means reporting them, then so be it.

We have a Mansfield policeman there stood at the bottom, where the more genteel and shall we say, less vociferous support was sat. Why isn't he at the back, pointing out these wasters? It was going on for a while.
As has been said, if they are spotted, something can be done.

A bloke at the side of me started joining in, I asked him why he did it, "It's a laugh bud intit?" I said it's just toe curling, cringeworthy, moronic etc etc, and asked him to think about it.....he stopped.

Why give the morons air time? Unfortunately as is the stags fans way allow the tiny minority to get the airwaves when it should be ignored. We should have joined in with the west brom fans singing "thats just embarrassing" then maybe they'll understand its not tolerated even by our own fans.

Focus on the other 99% of fans who have been impeccably behaved and made for a fantastic atmosphere - the type of atmosphere we should be trying to replicate at home.

People had a go at Evans last year when a tiny minority had a go at him and the way he reacted throwing the toys out the pram - hate to say it but your doing exactly the same thing focusing on the few, when the way the vast majority behaved should have made any stags fan proud. Lets talk about that instead eh? Something positive.

Bloke (old enough to know better too) near me on Saturday was shouting something racist to Macclesfield's number 13 on Saturday, got shouted down by a few people, but still some around were sticking up for him. Makes you wonder what goes through their heads sometimes.

There's always the same minority element who ruin it for everyone else by chanting crap like this.

Belly you're asking people to 'stand up to it', when not long ago you were the one condoning the 'small town in Asia' chant sang to Luton fans. It's not overtly racist but it has an unpleasant undercurrent.

Walker seems to be under massive pressure to deliver, he's probably got his last chance to show what he can do, is costing massive amounts of money.... Lay off him, get a chant going for the lad going and support him. "YOU'LL NEVER BEAT DES WALKERS SON"

They have to be given 'air time', because next time their mate will do it , and so on and so on, brushing under the carpet won't do anything. Speak up for heavens sake. Its like litter, if everyone picked up a bit, and didn't drop it in the first place, we'd be rid of it.

It was embarrassing . I'm sick and tired of the childish , racist remarks that plague football . I'm sick of the abuse players recieve from their own fans . There are a lot of nasty idiots out there who hide behind their keyboard or in the stands .
Someone said that Benning family in friends were in the stands along with some Asians . I wonder what they felt like . . I've had quite a few confrontations with our fans in the past . I will continue to do so . There have been occasions when I've been ashamed to be a Stags fan , even to the point of me thinking of stop watching them but then I thought why should a few moronic individuals stop me watching the club I love and support .
We all have cameras on our mobile phones . Time to start using them .
That lass who was banned a few months back was down to a fellow Stags fan reporting her . .
The excuse is that's it's football and its expected .
I was in London when England beat Sweden . Watched the game in a pub . Got speaking to two great lads from Cologne in Germany . They were supporting England for the day .
After the match the tanked up , embarrassing so called human beings where hurling abuse at passers-bys Then they starting the most cringe worthy of all songs , ten German bombers .
The two lads had enough and said their goodbyes . I felt so ashamed of bring English .
We shouldn't be put in that situation , no matter if it's the national team or Mansfield Town .
Thankfully it's only a small minority now .

I wonder if the people saying that these things should not be discussed are of colour? I also wonder if their expertise in how to tackle racism comes from personal experience of overt, covert, high level, low level and institutionalised racism which effects their daily lives? I also wonder if they had an 11 yr old mixed race son at the ground like myself (he is on his 36th league ground following the stags and over 50 including conference and cups, which is probably more than half the morons)and had to waste their breathe explaining who Tommy Robinson was. As for reporting it, they were flanked by stewards and police which included asians. The fact is they know just how far to go without being overt in their racism. That is why these chants are wrong. They are just the right side of not getting done but represent a more sinister belief. To the young lads joining in, just to be part of the pack, I would suggest that you take a moment to think about the ageing moronic thugs who encourage this and see if they really are the role models that you wish to emulate. Again, I will mention the.majority of fans.who.were fantastic!
