Bang average

Postby lancer » Sat Aug 25, 2018 4:26 pm

Sorry to say but once again after all the pre season hype we are a bang average team. Don’t seem to have any leaders on the pitch. And our tactics are very predictable. (Playing left footed CJ on the Right??)
3 Wins in 17 is not good enough .
We played a team today who looked like a non league side in a non league set up and not one player looked like really honestly wanted it.
Walker wants dropping for a start.
I really feel for the Radfords and Directors.
I hope it can be turned around but I’m beginning to doubt it very

Early days yet. Actually it's 1 win in 5 and no defeats.

7 points from 15.
Already 6 behind league leaders.
Just seems like a follow on from the end of last season  .

Not particularly, disappointed we didn't win.

But I've followed Stags for many years so my expectations arnt high.

I guess those who think we are going to storm the league will be less happy than me.

Could be worse, could be a Notts fan.

Are you happy abc ?

Still feels like last season, still can’t kill a team off. Should have killed the game off in the first half, but once again took the foot off the gas.

Credit to Macclesfield, there substitutions made the difference for them. I know it only 5 games in, but not good enough, for a team that wants to be challenging.

Only positive for me, was seeing Gibbens having a run out, thought he had a good game.

The problem we have is that our system is quite easy to nullify, there is no Plan B and depends too much on whether Benning and Hamilton are having good games. In the first half there only looked like one winner, then Macc make 3 changes at half time, stop Benning getting forward so much and we spend the next 45 minutes looking like its the first time the players have met, and the subs only make us look worse.

After today’s performance bang average is a compliment.

Substitutions were woeful and back fired making a poor side look worse.

Many of the players didn’t look interested. Walker didn’t really do anything.

Looks like a relegation battle if flop stays

Maybe the past week has been bang average, Or has everyone already forgot that we have already put 11 past Newport Accy and Yeovil?
Even Man City can only scrape a 1-1 sometimes,
Unbeaten and a nice trip to West Brom to look forward to...Chill out..Its still only August.

Strange game from the first minute, no urgency on the pitch matched by the quietest away following I’ve ever heard.

But this, after a 6.1 win!

How do we look so toothless after looking so dangerous.

To be fair, in the second half I think Mal had to help young Gibbons out a little. Was his debut and quite a big step up for the lad. He looked to be a little out of depth (and I'm not being critical) at times, but you'd expect that. He needed some help.

Bish was undoubtably my mom for today, for steel, grit and determination on their own.

Agree about the plan B though, we seem to struggle when we're pushed a little more than we were in the first half.

Early days still in the season, things will only get better :coys:

It’s not far off apart from the last part. We’ll be solidly mid table rather than fighting relegation

I was there today.First half we were excellent and I expected that we would win easily.Second half they were better than us.Whenever we had a throw-in nobody was moving asking for the ball.We could have lost this game but didn't.Gibbens did quite well on his debut.A good experience for him.We are a lot stronger with Preston in.I expect us to be in the play-offs at least and Macc to be in the bottom half together with Morecambe. We will go on a run of wins and will be up there at the end of the season.Walker and Davies were once again disappointing.Time for Rose to start.

My advice mate, don't look at them until we've played 12 league games.

...... and Stagnet reverts to its good old ways. Gets really annoying all the playground antics. Please, let’s just have a discussion rather than the boring ‘my dads bigger than your dad’ and ‘my keyboard is mightier than yours’ etc etc. This is league 2. Things are going to go wrong. Yes, we will be bang average a lot of the time, it’s the nature of this level of football. A couple of years ago lots of us would have been embarrassed to describe what we were playing as ‘football’. We are trying to play modern football, and in time I really think that it will click. Even Pep with the millions of £s at his disposal didn’t get it flowing straight away (not that I’m thinking we we will start playing the game as beautifully as Man Ciry do)
