I`m hoping this site will be full of sensible debate. I`ve left the other one as there are too many morons on there to make being on there worthwhile.

I've just watched the game on iFollow. I thought it was a mediocre to average performance by the Stags. Yeovil will not be finishing in the top half of the table so it was an opportunity missed to not grab three points. The goals we conceded were very sloppy. The first Yeovil goal was just a long punt forward which should have been headed away by Matt Preston. He missed the header and then Krystian Pearce did not pick up Jaiyesimi. The second Yeovil goal was from a long throw and I think Otis Khan should have blocked Omar Sowunmi's shot. Otis Khan is good on the ball but he does not like a tackle. My Man of the Match was Craig Davies who lead the line well and who was a threat in both halfs. I also thought Alex MacDonald played well. He kept things very simple and did not give the ball away very much. It was his pressing and block that resulted in Craig Davies' goal. It was also good to see us scoring from a set play for the second consecutive match (Matt Preston's header from a quick free kick against Yeovil and Tyler Walker's goal from a corner against Newport). I was disappointed by how many long balls we played at times. Both sides were guilty of giving the ball away too easily. I did not think Hayden White, CJ Hamilton, Neal Bishop and Tyler Walker had much of an impact on the game. It would have been great to have seen Danny Rose coming on as a sub for Tyler Walker. CJ Hamilton defended OK as a right wing back but he offered little as an attacking threat. We need to get him further up the pitch and I would like to see him back on the left hand side.

Overall you cannot complain about 4 points from 6. However the lack of forwards on the bench is a little worrying. We could struggle if Craig Davies and Tyler Walker pick up injuries or lose form.

No but Tippy says he has watched the full game on Ifollow . To me that means he probably has had a better view than most will have had who attended the game.

I know that Darren watches a lot of football and I respect his opinion which is normally balanced and fair.

He's not saying that it was a bad performance just not as good as some would have us believe. It's early doors and no team will be firing on all cylinders yet so nothing to panick about. It is however a useful insight as to things are progressing and may be a pointer as to how the team will evolve over the season.

I share the worry that we are a bit light up front but don't forget we have until the end of August to get a loanee in and the window opens again in January. No-one gains promotion or gets relegated in August so no need to tear each other apart at this stage so let's see how it develops.

Last paragraph is true, wait till the end of the month before pressing the panic button. We are doing fine so far. Some folk would've kept Hemmings here as main striker. Clownty fans now finding out what we all know, that he needs 7-8 chances before he bags one.

At least the morons on here won`t be young (or middle aged) lol, and won`t start threatening you that they will come to the places that you frequent! Not that I`m bothered, but don`t need the hassle and come on here for fun and information.

Everyone keeps saying move CJ back to the left hand side, in this formation that would mean him playing left wing back? Surely I’m not the only one who feels benning has looked back to his best this season in that role.

Yes we do look light up top, no matter what the trolls who keep ruining threads think, there is a reason why DF didn’t bring on Graham when Walker and Davies looked knackered towards the end of the game, not sure he 100% trusts the young lad yet especially in a tough away game. Hopefully we get another body in on loan to replace Angol.

You don’t see many benches nowadays. Mostly a series of plastic seats bolted together :)

Now, now, Mr Mackay, i don't think anyone begrudges an opinion, bud

It's just that some have an agenda in all their posts - one as obvious as an ant trying to smuggle an elephant through customs :P

The issue wasn’t the point about the perceived weakness of the bench, it was the bone comment about taking off a striker for a midfielder in the last ten mins.

I mostly agreed to most this but McDonald didn't have a great game.. him and bishop was all over the midfield, leaving gaps, not picking up midfield runs. Bishop gave the ball away lot and he played awful..

I'm liking us trying a new formation but I do think its hard for the wing backs.. they have no one behind them or infront to link up with.. and when defending they were stuck between yeovils wingers and full backs.. they was always out number.. (a few times, McDonald or Davies came across to help benning or khan with CJ but not every time)

As normal wrong again, it was about how weak the bench was from an attacking perspective

Of course the bench was short of attacking players on Saturday. We all know that.

Surely that is reasonable given one attacker had moved on and another might as well have as his head was with another team.

Just give the manager time to assess and remedy the situation.

We still scored two goals and gained an away point.

No. Once again it was about you whining about removing a striker for a midfielder. Want me to find it again?

I didn’t go to Yeovil and although I understand the points around attacking cover I think the main issue is getting used to 352.

Understandably there was much praise being thrown about after the Newport game however they did have a number of good chances better teams would have put away. From what I understand Yeovil’s goals were preventable

I do like the spirit in this group though and it’s v early days.
