Looks like only "seating" is available... what about the away standing area? Pretty sure that was available at the end of last season.

All depends on how many we take, the seating is only available unless the visiting club takes a large following. I’d imagine the standing was open last season due to an anticipated large following as we were in the hunt for the top 7.

Booked a ticket online today - accommodation already booked. After this match we may have some indication of whether the team is a promotion contender or a likely also-ran..or perhaps not...
Certainly we should be expecting to beat Yeovil based on pre-season form and squad quality.

Ta for that. Yeovil have had a good pre-season too against Bristol City, Rivers, and sticking 5 past Argyle at the weekend... Could be a goalfest.

Yes. If we don't win this I think we should write this season off and start planning for next season.

So if we don’t win at Yeovil, the only logical conclusion is that this team is worse than last years as we won there in April, when that team only won 2 out of 12.

Thus meaning no chance of promotion and thus DF out.

Looked at getting the train. They’re on strike. Brilliant.

Yeah I’m back on two feet. It is just a trek by car and the train ticket is only 37 quid.

Is this strike for better working conditions or is to bring down the government? ;) ;)

It’s about conductor operated doors. Seems a valid issue to raise. Not sure that striking is acceptable though

They should just ask nicely and take no action. See how that pans out for them.

There are other ways. An overtime ban would be crippling but not withholding of labour which should be very much a last option. The unions are holding train commuters to ransom and it is pretty cynical.

The long suffering commuters generally seem to be sympathetic to the unions in the rail disputes. I guess if you use a service everyday you get to see how the service has declined while at the same time getting much more expensive.

If EMT were in dispute with the unions (EMT still use guards but they've spent money on tech that will replace them going forwards), then for me full strikes cause less inconvenience to the customer than a work to rule. A strike mean that day you take a bus, or drive, or work from home whatever. A work to rule, because the opperators run on skeleton crews, would mean unpredictable holes in the service.

Our train system is a shambles, and very expensive one at that.

It is. One thing is for certain though and that re-nationalisation is not the answer.

Privatisation hasn't worked either and the only time East Coast Mainline has been a success was during its period of renationalisation. As son as it started making money it was sold off to another private company to raspberry up.

Still we'd best put this one in a siding before we end up on the naughty step. ;)

I went on train last season Belly, from Brookwood change at Basingstoke. Yeovil junction is miles from town centre but they did lay a free bus on. Then ground is miles from town centre, taxi ride. :D :D
Have a good day pal, when it's a new ground for me down south I'll be in touch, Crawley is on a Tuesday night if you fancy that?????
