Nearest League Ground

Postby 88BenM » Thu Jul 19, 2018 6:36 am

Saw this on the County message board, popped my postcode in to find the nearest league club, it's early morning so I expected to see a top 4 of Chesterfield, Mansfield, Sheff Utd, Sheff Wed. Field Mill straight to the number 1 spot?? And then it dawned on me, the Prozac isn't a league ground anymore

25 of the 92 are within 50 miles of my doorstep!

The five nearest League grounds that I have not been to are:

Peterborough United
Walsall
Birmingham City
Wolverhampton Wanderers
Middlesbrough

I hope we draw Peterborough away in one of the cups this season.

22 league grounds closer to me than Field Mill as the crow flies. 49.1 miles according to this site but 69 miles by my usual route. I can take a shorter route but it takes much longer.
Only one of those I haven’t been to (New York Stadium, Rotherham)

I actually think the Scottish manager'd need a pretty tight security cordon from our stormtroopers on the day he returns, whether with t'Posh or some other gullible club.
The vitriol this man would be subjected to from the Lower West during a game would be unlike anything we've seen before at t'Mill.

Respect, decency, he doesn't know the meaning of the words.
I never boo at t'Mill but for this shizter I'd give it everything I'd got until he clucked off down Quarry Lane with his tail between his fat podgy legs on the end of a whuppin (hopefuly) by the mighty Stags.

He's heard it all before, don't forget the terrible abuse he suffered whilst he was actually our manager by the fans in the Lower West

This is the first time I’ve wanted us to draw a team at home in the cup that isn’t a premier league side or somebody very beatable. Would love him to have to come back to Field Mill. Think the lower tier would prove very popular if so.

It would be complete overkill from our police & a 9am kick off. It was ridiculous how many were there on Wednesday night & filming Q block all night is pathetic & inflammatory
