Butcher looked far from garbage, encouraged younger players

In my experience there are very few thin butchers.

Its pre season fgs. Worry 10 games into season if they haven’t scored
'Slight concern'.
Also the teams they played in have not conjured up a goal either. Early days though.

I thought Butcher looked decent. If we can get his head right and back to playing to his best he'd be like having a massive new signing.
These are my opinions , if you don't like them I have others...

Butcher has done ok so far.
Look!!! If PRL13 says he is garbage, then he must be garbage. When deciding to comment on Butcher, PRL13 must have given full consideration to all the words at his disposal (at least twenty) before opting for “garbage”
Watch out Martin Shaw!

Butcher played well on a difficult pitch marshling the left hand side of midfield.... the lads got talent just needs to knuckle down n prove not to fans but himself he has a future at Mansfield Town

The level of opposition has to be taken into account, and I am by no means a Butcher fan, but he has supplied three defence splitting passes in the last two games.

Is he the YT left back 2nd to Benning that DF was on about?
Spot on him Foresttownstag him n Bishop both an handful at set pieces I liked how the defenders n smaller midfield players swapped roles when we had a corner giving height n power inside the box....

Like i said in another thread. Theres always a couple of players who are in the first XI who you would not have thought. They are usually there on merit.
Not been a massive Angol or Butcher fan to date but dont be surprised if they make it. They sound like they are excelling from reports ive heard.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

I wouldn't say Butcher is excelling, he's done pretty well but nothing too over the top. Angol has been very good, and OSJ was outstanding on Saturday.
But we're playing poor teams, so we'll see in the friendlies from here on in.

OSJ is an interesting one, he always does very well in reserve and PSF games but barely gets a chance in the first team. Was surprised that he got given a new deal but it sounded like Evans rated him. Another loan move do we reckon?
