George Pilkington Hangs Up His Boots

Postby Tippy Tappy Football » Wed Jun 27, 2018 10:01 am

George Pilkington hangs up his boots after 159 league appearances and another promotion with Macclesfield Town. Pleased to see he did well at another MTFC. He made 556(7) league appearances in total.

George must feature in the top 5 of exciting Stags signings who ended up to be a great disappointment. Paul Cox never seemed to forgive him after the 4-1 loss at Gateshead in August 2012 when George was subbed at half time. Jamie Tolley and Andy Owens also quickly went out of favour. Can George or Paul Cox now tell us the true story of what happened in the dressing room at Gateshead. Perhaps our Mansfield Matters friends can ask this question at their forum.

Go along to Craig Priest evening with legends events and ask him Darren.

You will find it in my match report of the evening Edders. Subsequently, Woking replaced all the glass in the changing room windows with thicker glass, because it had been so thin that the culprit had simply pushed his hand through it.

Glad you've finally admitted that Cox lied when he said a brick was thrown through the window as he "saw it land next to Mazza!"
