Butcher is a strange one, as he was apart of a team that got promoted to championship, where he played over 40 odd games, so can’t be that bad. Yeah he didn’t really show much when he did play last season but must be hard for anyone if they are not settled and away from family. If Flitcroft was to keep him on, could see a different player, if he gets given a chance.

Callum Butcher needs to get his head down and work hard. He may then impress in pre-season and win a place in the Stags side or even persuade another club to make a bid for him. As we have all said, there must be a far better player in there than we have seen to date.

The transfer list is a load of rubbish. Technically every player has a price so they’re all on the transfer list really. Same as if you want a player whether they’re on the List or not you can still agree with them to terminate their contract if both club & player agree to move them on. So Yorkie was right in that it could free up a lot of money in wages by getting rid of them.

Transfer list is clearly unwanted players though and show a club is more willing to get rid.

There's very little chance of a player terminating his contract free of charge if he hasn't got somewhere to go though Dan.
