He doesnt fill that with soundbites. Knows exactly what he's talking about. Get them fit and sharp.

Short and sweet. I'm more than happy for him only to check in when he's got something to report.

This is the 3rd thread on the subject of DF not speaking for5 weeks. Can the mods merge them so we don't have to go scrolling through them all to see if there is any genuine information

He is incredibly mundane so I don’t see the problem either.

I felt a video of DF speaking about preseason warranted a new thread. The thread title was a play on the other thread.

I would estimate 85% of league 2 players are of similar standard. So fitness is key to making them perform better than the next.

I don't know if DF's fitness regime is any better than other methods. He certainly believes in it. I hope it makes a significant difference.

He deserves the chance the closed season has given him, to prove it works.

I think the interview could have been spiced up with a few homebake recipes, or read out some handy household tips from Family Circle magazine? ;)

I think the general feedback from the players is that David Flitcroft gives them too much info. He needs to keep it short and sweet.

Well done to him also for not mentioning "intensity". I think we should have a competition though for the first mention of "pristine" finishing during the league season.

Too much to the players & not enough to the fans....it kinda balances itself out overall, doesn't it? ;)

Press conference update from John Lomas.

Summary :

Coke lives locally and contacted the club about training. Flitcroft keeping an eye on him.
Looking for centre half, creative midfielder and forwards.
Admires Tyler Walker but not drawn on speculation.
Was interested in Miller and Hemmings, but Miller's court case made deal difficult and Hemmings too expensive.
Has missed out on targets early on due to hefty wage demands and length of contracts.
Starting to hear back from targets previously unattainable due to season drawing closer and them getting itchy feet. Flitcroft happy to stay patient and not overpay.
Interest in the transfer listed players but he wants a fee for them so happy to wait.
Keen to use youth system.

I'm sure he's not 'happy' about it as every manager would love an open chequebook, but I feel DF is being hampered by SE's spending from last season.

Of course. Just paraphrasing what John said in his Facebook video, don't know how to post it on here.

All sounds very pragmatic and sensible to me. Dare i say it, but perhaps the right approach by everyone involved at the club?

He's clearly hampered by Sir Topham Hats spending.
The targets he mentioned wanting hefty wages and long contracts are the exact same players Topham signed early on last year and we are struggling to move on this.

We are shopping at a different supermarket this year for sure.
These are my opinions , if you don't like them I have others...

Possibly but if we’re signing Walker for the wages rumoured, then it’s fair to say it’s players making ridiculous demands rather than ya not having the funds.
