Lets blame the ref :D If Stags had played like England 2nd half we would have finished 8th in league...oh wait

It was clearly very poor refereeing though, two clear penalties for us and to say the decision on Walker was soft is an understatement! Thought we were excellent first half, Tunisia are no mugs, the highest rated team in Africa and thus to see them playing 10 behind the ball and Pickford having nothing to do is a testament to the job we did.

The first one on Kane was a definite pen, the second I though the ref got right. It looked like the guy was fouling him, but actually Kane was holding his arm. I thought that the Walker one was a 50/50 call.

You’re kidding. In the second half, Sterling was penalised for backing into the defender and grabbing his shirt. In comparison to the two borderline assaults on Kane, it was nothing. The ref was appalling and inept. He was inconsistent and I actually question his impartiality.

I thought exactly the same. The referee was not impartial at all based on what I viewed for 90+ minutes.
I believed the days when the England team were shafted by referees were over given the introduction of VAR. How wrong was I?

Stant proud of England youngsters

Postby Chadman » Tue Jun 19, 2018 2:35 pm

As EFL youth development officer, ex-Stags hero Phil Stant was proud to see the production line working well last night but believes the lack of a Ronaldo or a Messi and the lack of first team games for English players will continue to hamper England.

I just KNEW this would come. Do you think that just because I’m ambivalent that I wouldn’t watch ?

That doesn’t mean I get a chirp on because England are playing. My comment is valid isn’t it ?

Can I not comment ? Do I have to run my thoughts past you first ?

A good double at The bookies:

England to win the World Cup, and
Mansfield Town to be promoted at the end of 2018/19

“The nearest Scotland will get to another World Cup is if Iran played Brunei and the scoreboard said IRN – BRU”
We might win against Accrington next time, if we ever play them again.
