England fc

I think we need a thread about England what with that little competition coming up very soon

How does everyone think we will do,

Personally considering the youth and strengths we have, I think we’d could get to the quarters or semis, but with it being England anything can happen.

We'll stutter our way through the group stages coming 2nd on 5 points having beaten panama and drawn the other games.

Then we'll meet the winners of group H; Colombia. Who will beat us in our first knock out match.

Gareth will pick questionable teams who lack clear instruction and we'll all say 'that were raspberry' and look forward to league 2.

Text book world cup.

Quarter Final/Semi final for me. Not much expectation which could do us wonders.

Was not a Southgate man when he came in but he’s proved me and a lot of others wrong, his approach is refreshing, his style of play attractive and I’m confident this bunch can do us proud. IF all goes tits up, stick with him, let him build and let’s see where this group can go.

It’s also great to see England games spread around the country once again, Leicester are set to announce a friendly vs Switzerland 11th September.

I haven't been this optimistic since 1998.

The carefree, youthful exuberance, the lack of media pressure, the fact that that things are looking better in other age groups at national level. It all points to positivity.

Quarter finals where we will probably meet Germany or Brazil. I think we'll play well this tournament.

So long as they do better than that hideous " kicky kicky Slap song thingy" thing then we might not do too bad.

In all seriousness, i wish them all the best, let's be honest we've been crying out for years to let the "yoof" loose, so up and at em boys, and let's show em that England might still have a set of Balls! :2gunsfiring_v1: :yahoo: :rotflmao:

Actually looking forward to this tournament. We've got a likeable team, who seem to enjoy playing for England and enjoy playing football.

I agree James, we also have a manager who is generally well liked and who has done a very decent, if understated, job. Very much looking forward to the tournament and I am sure our fellow Brits in Scotland and Wales will be supporting us

In fact, I do actually know a Scot who will be supporting England :o

Wow. Spain have sacked there manager two days before they play Portugal in world cup. Wish we could meet them in quarters rather than Germany or Brazil. Get Belly out there to pick the side.

Qtr final exit for me -

Finish 1st or 2nd in our group, we're better than Poland and Columbia, then presumably meet either Germany or Brazil in the QTR's

The England squad visited a Russian orphanage today.

Boothroyd?
The Stags are for life, not just for cup finals. (or Liverpool).

No (Although he is acting as a scout this tournament I think)

Allan Russell is England's striking coach.
