I believe him.

Stu leaving was the only time i've ever been genuinely crestfallen over someone exiting the Club.
Hope I'm wrong

Yes, I agree, such a genuinely decent bloke who did a fantastic job for us, as a player and youth team coach/assistant manager. His time as manager was hamstrung by Haslam sadly. He's not struggled for work in football since so clearly has something about him.

Having people who love the club actually part of the club is a real asset and can move mountains. Look what askey did at Macclesfield for instance.

He's a very likeable man and did well all things cosidered (haslam). We scored a lot of goals under him but conceded a lot too. Id like to see watkiss back in some capacity. Even just as an advisor or ambassador role. The same counts for Murray but its too soon for him just yet.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

The Bristol City game ?

Some of us will never forget that day, nor will we forget who the owner was and the wage budget given to Stuart to find two centre halves. Fact is, against Bristol City we were absolutely fantastic for 80 minutes, that just made it harder to take!

I'll never forget it. Never seen anything like it. To this day, whenever I meet a Bristol City fan, the two things they bring up are that game and the fact that we relegated Rovers.

Actually Christie, who a lot of people see the sun shine outside his arse, getting sent off in the Bristol City game didn't help the cause, which a lot of people seem to forget.
Can we play Accrington Stanley every week.

You can't forget something that never happened Pete. Leroy got himself sent off, Iyseden was awesome that day.

It was Lee Williamson, Christie scored a great goal after going down to 10 men.

Obviously the name 'Part time' must refer to the amount of games you go to!!

Christie got 2 good goals that day.

Leroy got sent off for a bad reaction even though I think the initial decision went his way.

Saddened to see someone dare dirty Iysedens name.

Watkiss was a great bloke but a poor manager. Yes he had his hands tied but some of his tactics and formations were criminal. Playing little Jervis in a back 3 for example. The Bristol game, Oldham away...

Fair play for getting us over the line but he should have gone 5/6 games sooner than he did.

I remember the first time Crewe betered us that season, we played 3 at the back & we got stuffed 0-5.
SW said something along the lines of 'I could see after 10 miutes 3 at the back wasn't working'. He had a full back sat on the bench, n I thought this is gonna be a long season.

Nice guy, poor manager.

I think you are probably right, but I would have liked to see him back then given the kind of financial support offered to Cox and Evans, perhaps then we could judge him more fairly. He has had a very good career in football since so I suspect he found his niche.

I remember the pain of that day even though I was only following the game on teletext - the final score came in late on the telly but before iit was shown on teletext - I felt like I'd been punched in the face

I was in Germany. I was attending the Corps Sergeant’s Mess Dinner. I went in the shower and it was 4-2

Five minutes later and it was 5-4. Like a kick in the love spuds.
