I suppose that was a bit tongue in cheek.Bishop would be an excellent signing imo.

Really missed a player of his type last season. Welcom Neal. Bring us calmness and know-how.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

great news, like many have already said, we have missed someone of his experience and ability in the past few years.

Kevin Ellison with Morecambe has often managed to control games ( often without touching the ball ) for a good few years now . He,s 39 now .Bishop and Mellis looks impressive on paper .

Excellent signing.

Age is irrelevant here - last season he played 35+ games in a team that nearly got promoted to the Championship. Much better than the L1 cast offs we got last summer - this guy was a solid L1 performer.

I'll be judging Bishop on his ability not his age. The vibe is that he still has it and he was a mainstay in a team that finished 27 places ahead of us last season. Sounds a positive bit of business to me.

All the best Bish, welcome to Mtfc.

Would have preferred younger player and he might struggle to play full games a bit like Rose but in essence would be a good one to have onboard and will get a decent pay day from us.

Definitely lacked a player of this type last season so glad that’s been identified. Played plenty of games last year which is a good sign but he’ll need the right players around him to make up for his lack of pace. A friend of mine who watched him a few times last season against his side Rotherham reckons he could barely move. Hoping he’s not quite that slow and this turns out to be a strong signing - he definitely has the experience and know how that we didn’t have last season and reading decent reports from Scunny fans so pretty pleased with this one.

Fabulous signing I think. Rated well by people who watched Scunthorpe with a lot sorry to see him leave their club.

We’ve needed someone with that experience and determination in midfield. COYS, I’m starting to get excited about August. Note to self - renew season tickets tomorrow!

Totally agree Doomy.
Ability is the key.
I last played in goal for Sherwood Hall Boys in 1965 but I didn't stop Jurgen giving me a call after the Champions League final.

Good profiles for a 3 man midfield. Destroyer, box-2-box, creator. Macca and Mellis would need to up their numbers though.

I hope we sign Tom Pope next.

And have Craig Priest interview them both at the same time...

I don't ask for much.
