Agreed in the medium term. But in the short term, Flitcroft should have continued with everything as it was including the style of football for the last 12 games of last season and not changed anything (including training methods). Huge error.

For now though, we move on, and see what he can do with his own pre-season behind him.

Perhaps, but it would have been a hard one to call for him - stick to your convictions and have confidence in yourself and your plan or continue with the other guy's strategy, which could then be harder to reverse later on. He obviously thought it was better to just get in his own plan from day one, which probably contributed towards us not making the playoffs. That said, from now on, with his own signings and a pre-season to train them, he HAS to carry on with his own plans, even if there are a fair few of Evans' players left due to high wages and long contracts. He's certainly had a very difficult task job since he arrived, which I don't think gets properly acknowledged by some fans on here.

Agree with Martin although I would also tend to agree with JR regarding the responsibilty the players bear. In my view we should have taken 3 points from the Lincoln game and performances at Forest Green and h to Crewe had little to do with formation.

You could equally point to Luton Chesterfield and Coventry at h and Accrington Cheltenham Barnet and Colchester when we should have taken at least another 9 points all under Evans. Points in Sept count just the same as those in April

Anyway we move on

Whilst you can pick apart every game and work out where you should and shouldn't have lost points - if we hadn't let 10 men for 80 minutes Coventry equalise in Evans' last game, then Coventry wouldn't have been promoted. No idea what point I'm trying to make, but it shows how seconds can affect the outcomes of whole seasons.

;) I was devastated with how the season turned out.
We squandered chance after chance to score and win games.
That is were the fault lies .

DF will get my full backing .
The only hope is that he can attract a striker who can bury these chances being created.
We currently have Rose , Angol and Omari which is a good start but we need something more.

It’s all chip shop paper now, we move on

let’s get it sorted for a promotion winning season

However the striker situation is critical to our success

apparently i’m just to stressed about it and we have enough at the club already for some lemmings

Come on Flippy get Akinde or Bogle in the building and we can all relax a bit there’s a good chap

You must have been an absolute nightmare before the internet.. checking the batteries in the tv remote, ringing Teletext Head Office because Page 178 wasn't flicking over quick enough...standing outside Linneys waiting for the Chad to be printed....ringing the newsagents at 5am to check if it had been delivered.

I think it was 302 for football but 312 for the football transfer gossip. I bet they were worn out on your remote.
