I know this may get bounced but my son plays for them and I know a lot of Stags fans do have an interest ..... AFC have been promoted to Northern Premier League's new East Division which they are saying is step 4 ... Dont know the ins and outs of the step thing but that is what it is saying

Well done to all at AFC

Went to watch Tevie on saturday and they play in step 6 which is the league below where AFC got promoted from. Julian Joachim was playing for the opposition. The standard was absolute dog excrement!

Chesterfield are in Step 1, AFC Mansfield have been promoted to step 4. Both with compete in the FA Trophy.
We might win against Accrington next time, if we ever play them again.

As suggested they are at Step 4 of the non league structure
Step 1 National League Premier ( old conference)
Step 2 National League North and South divisions
Step 3 Northern Premier League, Southern Premier League and Isthmian Premier League each having a Premier division at this level
Step 4 the Northern Premier League has 3 division- Div 1 North, Div 1 South and the new Div1 East. The Southern League and Isthmian League has similar divisions.

Promotion from each of the divisions to the next Step up is difficult with only 1 club automatically promoted from each ( subject to meeting ground and financial regulations at each step)
AFC have been promoted from Step 5 (where promotion is a bit more complicated- they were one of the best 3rd place teams...) but only because Andover have declined promotion from the Wessex League!

Effectively AFC are only 3 promotions away from the National League Premier ( or 4 from League 2!!!)

Only issue for AFC is that if they don’t do certain ground improvements by 31st March 2019 they will be automatically relegated back to Step 5

Think now there step 4 we could actually loan them players.

Not sure on the loan rules but i believe professional footballers can only be loaned to teams higher than step 4 on the non league pyramid.

No problem at all.

Theyd even probably include him in team photo.

Hopefully he'll go to Alfreton. Get them promoted and get above them!

Think Jack will be playing Conference football next season. He's far too good for Step 4

Wow. Credit to him though at that age to still be playing competitive football.

I think the best Jack can hope for is National League North. He's going to struggle because he's not played a lot of football for the last two seasons.

If the lad carries on showing the lack of effort and passion for the game, he's going to struggle at a lot of places.

Shame, he's a good lad.

They did however a team has withdrawn from the league above therefore a team has to replace them. As AFC Mansfield were “best of the rest” it’s them who’s been chosen to go up

Any very harshly done by, by all accounts. Hugely unfair the that season was extended for pickering town giving them extra rest period over their 3 games even though AFC managed to finish theirs on time
