Opportunity for youth graduates to come through

Postby Cheshire Stag » Wed May 09, 2018 8:09 pm

There well maybe quite a number of this seasons players on 2 year contracts and we will want to see 2 or 3 stellar signings for next season but I feel there has to be opportunities for our youth graduates to progress towards the first team. The investment in the youth must be given a chance to pay off. Of course the youth players have to be good enough, but sometimes you don't know how good they are until they are given a chance. I would like to see 4 or 5 youth players in the reserves next pushing for a first team place. Lets be how Crewew used to be bringing the youths on! COYS

Couldnt agree more, young lads need four or five games before they can be truly assessed and are rarely given that opportunity which is why so many fall by the wayside. Would Dis, leroy, lawrence et al have come through and shone if the managers at the time had had the money to spend?
