He did well first season but was generally part of an under performing midfield this season. He's a gifted footballer just getting towards the end of his very good career, good luck to him if he goes, if I were a Conference manager, I'd sign him.

Had some good games for us but it's the correct decision, his lack of pace in the middle cost us a fair few times this season.

Rather looking forward to seeing what Flitcrofts retained list looks like now.

Right decision, just lost his way and cost us points.

Shame, quite like him at the beginning

Probably like Mellis - a good footballer just not in this league - ironically he’d probably do better in league 1 than league 2 given there’s more time off the ball up there.

I felt he had his best games last season alongside Ben Whiteman

He would have been a decent back-up but depends on his wages and probably wants to play. Had a great first part of the season but injuries slowed him down unfortunately.

And just to add, there is no way you get more time on the ball the higher up the levels you go, that is a myth.

Lost his way after his injury this season - good decision by the club.

Deffo suggests the players have been told, further suggesting we will all find out tomorrow as was suggested.
Probably the right decision through, will be interesting to see if we all think the same over thw rest?

The players are being told I assume over 2 days, i.e today and tomorrow.

I know of at least 1 player that has a meeting tomorrow.

Massive shame, he was one of our best players in the first half of the season and we missed him when he was injured. I think Flitcroft will let many players go I wouldn't, minor tweaking for me, we were the form team for 4 months in the middle of the season, ship bottom 5-6 out and replace with better and we'll have the rght squad, just need to get them taking chances.
I think our squad will be worse next season than this.

Quality player with an educated left foot. His delivery in the first half of the season was the only way we scored from set pieces and that's a fact. Best guess its our loss and he will be employed at a better side higher up the football pyramid next season. Hey ho flipflops decision hes the manager.

I highly doubt he will be playing higher than League Two. His legs have deserted him unfortunately.

Im not saying your wrong this is just my opinion for what its worth. He is a holding type midfielder not a box to box type midfielder. He picks up the second ball and quickly distributes it left or right to your wing backs to do the running. Two touches on the ball at most. He was played in a different chasing the ball role under flipflop and its not his game in my opinion but I agree he has not got the legs for a box to box midfielder like ben whiteman was. You have to play him to his strengths quick thinking great distribution to start a move from the back using width. That's how SE used him but I hate SE as well. Think he still has a future at a higher level so good luck to Joel Byrom

I liked Byrom, but people thinking he will somehow end up in league 1 must have been watching a different player to me!

He has played under two managers this season and used relatively sparingly by both.
