2 - 3 years time we will have a production line of talent hopefully walking into the first team.

Retford will also benefit as they get players loaned for next to nothing which hopefully helps them climb a few leagues and makes it more competitive for future youth loaned there.

And we all throw our dummies out the pram when Chelsea want there B teams to play against men.

Liverpool are going for a different angle with loaning their youth manager to The Rangers in Scotland as there is no way that the bankrupt Scottish club can pay his wages. Just watch the free Liverpool youth players getting experience playing against men next season.
Can we play Accrington Stanley every week.

I'm getting that Retford away kit. Much better badge than ours.

It’d work well when we play at Meadow Lane or Blundell Park!

Then we’d play in our home kit? Bit like our home kit works well when we play at Newport & Cambridge

Do we have a home and away kit? I thought we just had a kit, and a change strip when there's a clash (hate it when we are forced to play in different colours!).

You usually have to spend some serious money to get to National League North.

What are the rules on loans at that level?

I can see this whole Retford venture being the much needed bridge between our highly successful youth team, and the first team personally.
As many of them playing in true competitive games as possible can only be a good thing.

There are no loans at Step 7 and I also think there is a limit on the number of scholars from other clubs who can be played.

My prediction is that a lot of the former Shirebrook players from Step 6 (NCEL Premier Division 1) may end up at Retford United in Step 7 (Central Midlands League) because there were rumours about the Shirebrook players not being paid. Retford are said to have a budget of £3,000 per month which is massive for the Central Midlands League. The main rivals should be Clay Cross (runners up in the last two seasons), AFC Bentley, Retford FC, Collingham and Lincoln Moorlands Railway.
