He was filling his Range Rover at Tesco in his training kit at lunchtime. Didn't look to have court on his mind.

Alan Swann from the Peterborough Today newspaper gives his verdict on Ricky Miller

RICKY MILLER Posh apps: 5 (8) Posh goals: 0 Contract expires: 2020 Swanny says: A dreadful disappointment on and off the field. A local man who arrived with so much goodwill, but hampered by a six-game ban at the start of the season and then by off-field discretions. Can’t see him changing his ways. Verdict: Release

https://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/spo ... -1-8477840

If I were JR then I would take a punt on Ricky Miller (subject to being able to terminate his contract if he is sent to prison). He is hungry and desperate to prove himself in the Football League. He might come up with the goods if he is given a bit of support, guidance and appreciation. We don't usually have the opportunity to sign a player who has scored a huge amount of goals one league lower.

I'd agree TFF, but i'd include a 'use it or lese em!' clause where if he isn't using the ball effectively he loses his!

For me i reckon an incentive based contract, and one that can be terminated if he falls back into his old ways. Perhaps a bit harsh, but he is at least getting another chance at league football

29 and scored 1 in the football league.... only scored loads of goals at one club. With Rose, Angol, Possibly Hemmings here I don't think he's what we need, but id have him if he's affordable.

We need a goal poacher / scorer who is going to be there or there abouts and Angol isnt that and Hemmings doesnt score enough at all notwithstanding in relation to the number of chances he gets.

Give Miller a run alongside Hemmings or Danny Rose and my own view is that we would have a fearsome strike force.

My brother is a Peterborough Season Ticket Holder and his view is that Miller didnt help himself at all so Grant McCann washed his hands of him but that he had the potential to be one of the top League 2 goalscorers if we got him going - maybe someone believing in him and giving him some TLC might just work?

It wouldn't surprise me if the "Scottish manager" tried to use him as a barginning chip for Rose.

I doubt any of our players could make the step up to a promotion chasing league 1 team.

My Grandmother would have scored some of the sitters Rose has missed. Definitely lower league 1 / upper league 2 at best.

Rose has been the most guilty of missing chances in recent games, clear cut chances at that which could have meant we'd at least be equal with Lincoln & Coventry. Sitters against; Spireites, Vale and Yeovil. Furthermore there's hardly anything between Rose & Hemmings' goal scoring stats, based on them Angol has the best strike rate of them all.

I think it would be very difficult for the Radfords.

From the sounds of it evo will be doing his usual 15 out 15 in most likely, hope Radford stays well clear

I'd still yes to that but not for anything less than 500k and miller...

Macca would walk into most L2 sides so would be difficult to replace

If you can dig six foot down you can have her for nothing, bless her, and she will still move more than Spencer and Angol

Miller hasn’t really had the chance to prove himself at the Wonk. I have sneaky feeling that he could shine next season if he’s still with us.

He needs to be here next season.
