The muddled thinking of the last few weeks had been clearer and maybe if we had picked up even one win, we wouldn't be in this position of relying on others.

This isnt just a dig at Flircroft but lets be honest here. Was yesterday really much different to previous games? Yeah we defended better but we didn't create much and didn't play all that well again considering how poor Chesterfield are.

We just need to see out the season now. Pray the boys give that much effort every game, that results go our way and that we can maybe sneak in the top 7.

Great to win and give ourselves a chance though.

Fat chance. Can’t even beat Chesterfield away and hammer another nail in their relegation coffin without people whining

Who's whining?
Can't anyone say anything that doesn't fit in with your view without you having to leap on and name call?
Do you sit waiting for folk to fall out with?

Yes we are enjoying the moment, but unless we are completely blinkered, it's a bigger picture surely and a huge investment that's been made to get promotion not just a win at Chesterfield? Or is that all that matters?

A battling win but it could have been so much more.

Great result but it was against the worse team in the league . I'm relishing in the win but it's now how we react . Three FA cup finals against teams who have nothing to play for . Win all three then we are in with a shout . Although we are not involved , Tuesday is a big night .
Lincoln have a tough game at home to Wycombe and then face Colchester at home and away to Coventry and Accrington .
Coventry have a easier run in . Swindon have Colchester and Accrington to face so if we can do our job then you never know

If we can is a different matter

Yesterday was great, and everyone should obviously enjoy putting another nail in their coffin and all but sending them down - but when i got back last night i did look at the table and think exactly the same. We are still relying on Coventry or Lincoln to slip up twice, even just 1 win out of them 9 games would have made things look a lot easier. We need help sharpish from Wycombe who play Lincoln, and Stevenage who play Coventry on Tuesday to give our chances a boost.

The Peterborough fans will be saying the same. One win in six and they lose to 10 men strugglers Rochdale.

Was it also any different to Coventry or Lincoln away under Evans. He was lucky at times imo. Flitcroft has been a little unlucky in some matches. Same old moaners but hey ho it’s an opinionated forum!!!

It's too easy to look at the last 8 games & say 'if only' we've been throwing points away all season, conceding sloppy goals since day 1. All the draws we had earlier in the season inflicted as much damage.

Perhaps it is Sneag, you're right in that given the amount of draws at places like Grimsby and drubbings at Cheltenham , it's not just the last 8 games. The point I was trying and failed to make was that even after some of the bilge under the Scotsman, even in the last 8 games, one positive result in even those, would have us in a better position .
That's the frustrating thing , but some say you aren't allowed to make that point.

On a positive note, so good to see those faces in the opposite stand today. Their little band of pillocks, one of them trying to make a 6 fingered gesture all afternoon.
Well you had to laugh.

I know what you mean. The last 8 while our worst run of results, the performances were mostly on par with the rest of the season. Individual mistakes cost us points in all those games barring FGR where we were dogshit & 1st half v Crewewhen we were worse!

Put it anyway you want beforehand with Evans we competing for the automatics and getting results.

Hardest team to beat in the league back then, despite the ‘sloppy’ goals.

We were very limited yesterday, but basically we've relegated Chesterfield!

All id say is, did the long ball ever work yesterday? No. What happened the one time we played passing football? Ah, we scored. Not hard to fathom is it!?

Next week we can push on, it's a big game for us and a win had us within a chance.

Long ball would have worked yesterday if the long balls had been targetting their fullbacks instead of aimung at the cave troll centre half.

Drug test for Norman please. Must be on something to be on here after a win. Still critical though so probably only class B.

I’m not sure we are and I agree that we aren’t good enough for L1.

But. We beat The Spireites at their manor and arguably condemned them to relegation. I’ll take that.

I suppose Macclesfield and Tranmere will be adequate replacements for Chesterfield and Barnet.

After looking at yesterday’s results, the table and the future fixtures still to be played I am confident we will be in that top 7.

Coventry & Lincoln have some tough games. They also have to play each other.
