Probably largely down to the number of new signings and New contracts. I bet Stanley and Wycombe made few signings. It will also be higher because of the sizes of those player salaries too though. Chesterfield's is 3rd highest. Didn't their owner say they had 3rd highest budget in the league?

If I employed an agent to represent my interests, I would expect to pay him/her out of my income.

This method applied in football is corrupt.

That is shocking. Second highest. Almost 10 times more than Accy. Hmm.

Transfer spending

Postby Nottsstag100 » Wed Apr 04, 2018 2:08 pm

It was very interesting to see that we spent £85,940 since February 2017 the second highest in league 2 and seeing that chesterfield came third spending £80,477

Coventry were the highest spenders of £113,620 and county 4th spending £76,426

The worst thing is Accrington only spent £9,632 so it’s incredible comparing them to the chesterfield side that thought they would go straight back up

I assume Evans signed up to Quidco to get his % cash back?

No not a shock, but shocking use of funds when you compare us with Accy and Wycombe. Really glad he's gone.

They spent £85,940 on Agents' Fees the previous year (1st February 2017 to 31st January 2018) which was the 2nd highest.

That nearly one million pounds has been taken from division 2 football, where clubs struggle to break even, should be a figure that is absolutely abhorrent to any sane football fan.

What did we get for £77,932 spent? In what way would the club have been disadvantaged by not paying agents their fees? How much of that is attributable to Mr Evans? What are the club doing to try and lower the figure for the future? Should we be promoted (hopefully) with the squad requiring an overhaul (loans players, out of contract, the living dead that never play that we always seem to sign) will agents see us as a target?

The FA are meeting the Premier League (spit) tomorrow with a view to removing the ability for an agent to be paid twice, once by the player and again by the club(s) involved. Hopefully tomorrow’s meeting is the beginning of the end of football at whatever level being a cash cow.

200 plus million spent, in all divisions last year on Agents fees by clubs. That amount would solve grass roots funding problems overnight and for many a year.

Or we could all stop subscribing to Sky, BT etc and watch the lot cave in.

This, I know an Agent of 3 Prem players. The stories he tells are staggering.

Agents' fees for the Premier League are £260 million!!

How many decent pitches, changing rooms, toilets, catering facilities and clubhouses could that provide for grass roots football?

Yes it's a lot but if you look through our squad we have so many players now that we will make money on. You look at the likes of Hamilton, Preston, Tomlinson, White, Sweeney, Khan and Rose... We've potentially got close to 2.5 million worth in those young players should we ever want/need to sell them. They've been good buys over the last few years.

Then you've still got the likes of MacDonald and Pearce on top of that.

There is a hell of a lot of money in our squad that hasn't just disappeared.

That’s as may be. But it still doesn’t justify the money being sucked from the game by these parasitic wide-boys.

Totally agree mate. It's disgusting and clubs in the lower league are receiving no help from the FA. When you see non league clubs going bust for the sake of £50,000 etc. And then you look at agents fees in the premier League its a huge kick in the balls. Something could and should be done.

There is only one family to blame, if you want to blame anyone, for paying these MTFC fees and that is the Radford's.
