As a good insulator surely it would be wise to keep the pitch covered in snow for a little longer i.e. closer to KO although appreciating choosing Sunday is more likely to get volunteers with M-F workers more able to lend a hand

I'll bring the flamethrower. She could strip the moisture out of a miserable Bank Holiday weekend on the Lincolnshire coast.

the temperature shouldn't be an issue. +6 on Tuesday afternoon, and +1 overnight Monday. So it's better to get the snow off early.

Good luck with 1000-1130. It took a day and a half when we had to clear the pitch five years ago for Nuneaton at home with many volunteers including Muzza. You never realise how large a football pitch is until you have had to wheel barrow all that snow off.

Yes more than 1.5hrs needed unless an army of 2-3 hundred turn up.
I'm pretty sure it took 4-5 hours to clear the pitch before the York game and there was plenty of us there that day. Sharp's back hasn't been the same since!

I remember the York manager (Martin Foyle) doing everything he could to try and pursuade the ref to postpone the game when he arrived. He soon shot off back to the dressing room when a few of us started gathering around with shovels in our hands :D

The ref was spot on and appreciated the effort of everyone for clearing the pitch and getting the game on. Free pie and peas after and a well rewarded 3 points. Fond memories of that day at a time that didn't offer many.

You sound really boring. You'll be going on about annual rainfall next.

Was a decent turnout before the (crucial we got it on) Nuneaton game as it'd been a proper fall and was 6-7 inch deep. Some answered Muzza's call on the Sun and began the process the rest was shifted in a race against rising temperatures on the Mon as it melted.
I don't think there's as much as there was in 2013 after seeing some of the players peel back some covers on the top pitch to train on Flitters first day. If 70-80 turn up Sun it shouldn't take much more than 3 hours provided we don't have a deal more.
Snowed again last night in town, but just a dusting.
I can't make it this time.

Get there folks. Even an hour of your time will help massively.

This is what it's about - it's OUR club, they need a bit of help and its not going to cost you anything but a bit of effort. Don't forget your shovels, brushes and barrows.
