I think it was stated that players will now play without fear

I despise the man for what he has done but comment was a bit silly. There is nothing wrong with what the players have done this year

I will read the book as I understand its quite a good read

Did you hear him shouting extremely unpleasant things at his own players? It wasn't just the referee and fans he verbally abused. As the title says, good riddance. I don't normally partake in the booing of former players and managers, I will make an exception for him.

Neither do I Rob but his actions this week have left a very bitter taste and I am sure he will receive an interesting welcome from the Field Mill faithful!

We obviously don’t know, but it’s rare that leopards change their spots.
Bear in mind that his self-obsessed nature and increasing arrogance (buddy of Sir Alex/19 promotions) can only have made his behaviour worse IMO.

Was Evans in the know then, with a promise of better pay, big budget for players etc?

Evans had to know about this unless the new co-owners decide they don't want him as manager and give him the sack straightaway!

I just want to say how proud we should be of the way John and Carolyn have dealt with this saga. No backstabbing, just got on with the job and got the new man in. Good Luck too DF, hope you have great success with MTFC for years to come!!!

Unpleasant things at his own players? - grow up

I repeat I dislike the man - but to say players will now play with freedom is nonsense. They are doing fine

Your newly found dislike of Evans is very entertaining. Not on your own though

Again, according to Darragh MaCanthony Evans didn't know about the new owners coming in - another load of nonsense I'm sure, just spinning a big web of lies

I don't have a new found dislike for Evans

I dislike him for what he has done. Like most you miss the point - there is no evidence of players having a problem with him. That is the issue here

Clearly the players are not going to say they have an issue with Evans when he was the manager, I suspect they are not likely to say anything even now as who knows what the future might bring - I suspect very strongly that privately they think he is a prize dick! I never really saw any sort of relationship between Evans and the players other than hostility and arguments. He's always been the same, some people just aren't very nice, I'm so glad he is no longer at our club.

Once again Rob ....... the point was players will play with more freedom

I said there was no evidence there was not a problem with players at Mansfield as evidenced by new contracts etc

You said you suspect players don't like him ,,, but you don't know

You miss the point and I cant now be bothered to make the same points again and again because you don't get it

As you seem to be struggling - I think he has done a good job , I am indifferent to him as a person and I think hes behaved appalingly. Do you get it now?

I’m a little suprised John Radford has taken it so well ,he has obviously been shafted , I’m sure it’s not difficult to get info on him being tapped up ,
Listening to his post match interview on Saturday I was thinking ,I have had enough of this plonker moaning and blaming everybody .His weekly insult of the opposing manager ,the ref, and anything else he can think off..

The lack of any reference at all to it by MTFC suggests that something has been going off in the background to make it all go away

The biggest name manager in our history, the guy with the biggest ever budget, the guy charged by our most generous ever Chairman with getting us into the Championship? Sitting 5th place in the league? A fans forum with him cancelled 24 hours before his resignation for tenuous reasons? Who then goes on to give the most see-through and barely believable of reasons for leaving us and appearing an hour later at the game of a club he joins 24 hours later, before never touching on it again? And not one reference at all by MTFC to him or any of it?

It's all been sorted out behind closed doors, and probably before the forum was ever cancelled. I'd imagine that it was sorted out on Sunday - MacAnthony would have approached JR for Evans before McCann was sacked, JR would have been told by Evans that if he didn't accept it Evans would walk out anyway, and everyone found a way to make it look at smooth as possible. Part of this being that Evans had to be seen as having 'resigned' - as it's better sounding than JR allowing him to leave, and it would be up to Evans to come up with a reason why, that didn't make it look like MTFC had let him go - which is why Evans reason is so tenuous; he doesn't care, and it doesn't matter.

My starting position would have been Peterborough paying any compensation we owe to the club of our next manager and all fees due to by MTFC to Peterborough for anything (Including Miller loan) written off.

JR hasn't got where he is today by being naive and accepting what's happened. He will have the OC lawyers looking at the whole situation to see how they can get back at Evans
