I think everyone's in shock.

Great game tonight, as others have said it could and probably should of been a few more. Newport looked hopeless and 2 steps slower from the second it started.

Well done everyone who played. Some great performances and attacking play. Decent atmosphere too.

How did Hemmings miss at the north stand? Looked a sitter...

CJ was unplayable at times first half.

I was going to say the same thing, its amazing how quiet it is on here after a win sometimes. After a thumping like that I thought more people would be on singing our praises. Newport were truly pants but after some slow starts this season we suddenly decided to go all out from the start and caught them napping. Well done lads.

Rob wrote:Odd game really, Newport were shocking and we really could have got double figures, that is no exaggeration. CJ, Potter and MacDonald completely dominated and they couldn't handle our front two. King did well and was unlucky with his 50 yarder. Back four were barely tested. Surprised not to see earlier subs when we went 5-0 up. Very poor attendance, though it was cold, we are top 6 and though only 57 from Newport I was disappointed it was below 3,000. I think with it being half term it may have been a good evening to have had some sort of kids for a quid scheme.

It ain't half term around here Rob, it's next week.

Ah, it's half term this week here in Lincs, thought it was the same in Notts, it's my birthday this week and when I was at school it was always half term, must be later this year.

There are a couple of criticisms I could mention, I thought the subs could have been made earlier and I thought even though we scored 5 we did miss a lot of chances - I doubt we will get many better chances to beat our 9-2! That is proper nitpicking though!

Class from the first whistle, we swarmed them.

Only criticism is it could've been double figures. Hemmings missed two sitters, Miller missed a sitter, King missed two sitters, King inches away from 40 odd yards, Bennett hit the post, Rose scuffed one wide.

Chesterfield average 5000

Accrington average 1600

So in short, who gives a toss about attendances, they mean nothing

Regarding tonight. Bloody brilliant.

Faultless.

We were brilliant in all positions and could have scored 10. It was just the ticket after Saturday.

Anything I'll say will just copy what's been said. But bloody pleased.

Reminds me of the 5-0 win over Scunthorpe in (circa) 2004

Will tonight's match report be written by Martin Shaw or will it 'Be-hat-tricks Potter'?

Good allround display! I think King is the missing link. The team looked balanced and flowed. The best I`ve seen in the last 7 years. If anything, Kane Hemmings looked the weak link, for once.

I agree. He leads the line really well and links up a lot of our attacking play.

They all miss the odd sitter, lets hope he bags the next one

We were fantastic last night, better than them all over the pitch and it was great to take our chances and race in to a 2 goal lead so early. Back on track ahead of 2 very tough games

I think you can see to some extent, in the form of Newport and Coventry recently, how much their FA Cup exertions have taken it out of them and overshadowed the league. The Man City game would have been nice to have, but I think we might have suffered in the league too, so I'm glad it played out like this.

The side last night really looked on it and as said previously, well balanced and fluid. The most complete performance of the season against a side that I really expected a tricky evening out of.

Can't think of a single player who looked off it all evening, front to back. The only criticism being the feeble gate. Too many fair weather local based fans happy to stay in the warmth, watching Champions League. The hardy few got a very nice reward. And Newport got off lightly at 5; it really ought to have been 7-8.
