Managerial Vacancies

Postby stagmanrob » Tue Feb 06, 2018 6:01 pm

Quite a few cropped up recently, which one will our managerial team be linked to?

The Cowley's are current front runners with the bookies for former Stag Paul Heckingbottom's old job at Barnsley.

A more realistic proposition I feel would be Bradford for Evans to be linked to.

Big fanbase, and still sat in the playoffs with a squad more than capable of promotion. They've lost 6 on the spin so sacked McCall because of that. Wouldn't take much to get them up I feel, and would be the right kind of jump straight away if Evans wanted another promotion on his CV.

Don't know if Evans being ex-Leeds would go against him there though.

Don't Bradford have German owners now, already been a German manager linked to the job so I think we're safe with that one?

There's a German who is favourite for the job, but there are one or two English managers just behind him in the betting.

After Huddersfield, it seems that Norwich and Bradford seem to think a German will mean success. Even Wednesday have gone for a manager with success in the Bundesliga 2 although he is Dutch. Can't see it working personally. The English leagues below the top tier are completely different to those in foreign countries. Support alone is a lot better, and the level of competition is much tougher.

Evans ain't going nowhere till the end of t'season at least. Get us up and his reputation grows bigger.

A football club Chairman,
'Steve we really want you as our new manager. We'll give you X amount as a salary'.

'Whoa, whoa, whoa,' sez Steve 'Not so fast. Tell me, how many promotions have I got now, 10...11? I've lost count now myself. Tell you what stick another nought on the end of that figure and I'll think about it'.

Can't see the Cowleys going until they've had their day at Wembley.

money talks, I bet Barnsley didn't think their manager would go to Leeds as he had just signed a new contract but who knows? can't see them being there next year if they carry on doing what they're doing

Highly unlikely Evans will be linked to Bradford as the huge brawl when he was at Crawley still remembered here

Would be v v unpopular choice

As mentioned last week regarding Ainsworth, hopefully unsettles the Wycombe team ;)

Gareth Ainsworth is big mates with the Wycombe Chairman so I expect him to stay there.

I don't expect him to move either, however hopefully it unsettles / derails them for a few games.

It certainly did us earlier in the season when SE was linked with Gillingham - it just takes the eye off the prize and i hope Wycombe suffer.

Now just need John Coleman to be linked somewhere to derail Accy

If SE had become Scotland manager he would have selected Macca. If CJ went to school in Scotland, he'd be a Hamilton Academical.

That list of possibles for Barnsley is a breath of fresh air. Fair play to them for trying something different rather than the same old regurgitated list of failed managers.
