Thought Potter was unfortunate at losing out to their full back for Wycombe’s first goal rather than poor play. Actually thought Alfie was MoM
We might win against Accrington next time.

in my opinion his job was to stop the cross coming in, he didn't. He'll be my man of the match too.

As opposed to Akinfenwa who committed more fouls than Angol and bleated more to the referee than a bunch of Spireites. Never even got booked

When their team come to the Mill they are the most time wasting, unsportsmanlike bunch of bells ever to walk God's earth.Suck it up.ps The ref had no control on the match whatsoever and was generally playing to the tune of the home crowd.

Agree with Pete that Alfie was unfortunate with that tackle. He had to make up ground fast as CJ was in dreamland and hadn't tracked back. He came in at pace but couldn't get a clean block. Apart from that - yes he was MoM.

Still smiling at that second half performance. I just hope and pray that we can start to have a settled side without too much tinkering soon. The players showed they have the will and talent to become a strong unit but they need to keep playing together to really gel into one unit. At the moment we have two or three units.

Good report Martin (apart from criticising Alfie). ;)

I'm still going through the second half. From the first half, the home fans were going mad when Angol had a chance to stab at goal from close range, he did so and the keeper smothered. I've studied the video, Angol did nothing wrong.

from the report
Steve Evans was forced into changes from the draw at Grimsby due to a virus in the camp. Conrad Logan was not 100% and sat out the game on the bench, with Bobby Olejnik coming in for his first league start.

This is the incident where the home fans wanted Angol sent off:

More astonishing refereeing on 71 minutes. Angol was clearly fouled. It was right in front of us and we had a great view. Instead the referee gave the free kick to Wycombe and spoke to both Angol and Scarr. The home fans wanted Angol booked (it would have been a second yellow). From the video, Angol was clearly caught in the face by Scarr’s arm and went down. Ludicrous refereeing.

this is my take on the two possible penalties:

On 57 minutes, Potter got into the area on the right, and went down. It was a bit too far away for me to see if it should be a penalty, but John Peers texting into our commentary on iFollow Stags from behind the goal and with a good view, thought it should have been. From the pitchside video, Jacobson sticks out a leg as Potter cuts inside him, Potter goes down, Jacobson withdraws his leg and protests his innocence. I think that was a penalty, though it is a very hard one to tell, and the referee probably couldn’t tell. The referee did not book Potter for diving.

On 90+1 minutes, Olejnik had to stretch to tip a dangerous cross from Nick Freeman over the bar. From the resulting corner, Wycombe claimed for a penalty which was not given. From the video, Mackail-Smith lofted a shot towards the roof of the net from 4 yards. Angol, who was about a yard away, blocked the ball with his right arm, with his elbow sticking slightly out from by his side. From the video, you can see that the referee had a perfect view and carried on. It was a difficult one for the referee (as was the Potter possible penalty earlier). It could have been given, and I would say the two incidents evened themselves out.

Alfie Potter was at fault for the first goal as he should have stopped Gape getting in the cross or held him up. He dived in. Zander Diamond was also at fault as he was marking Akinfenwa. He did not get close enough to Akinfenwa or jump to try and head the ball away. Akinfenwa did not have to jump to head it in.

Lee Angol was very lucky not to pick up a second yellow card as he clearly put his arm around Scarr's neck and pulled him back.

My MOM was Mal Benning.

Didn't go to Wycombe, sounds like bobby did alright. If Conrad was ill he should come back in. Been superb last 3 months and you can't drop someone who's been playing that well even if Bobby had a good game
