Sammy the stag gets the sack?

I’ve just read on facebook that apparently he’s been sacked because he was goading the guiseley fans

Fortunately for him there's plenty of work available for antlered beasts at this time of the year.

I'd be extremely surprised if its Sammy, I don't think its Sammy they took issue with - certainly didn't do anything we've not had done to us.

Now as for Sally celebrating in front of the guiseley fans as we scored (not sure if it was the 2nd or 3rd) but that really upset one or two of them. One of their fans was clearly complaining and the steward had to have a quiet word with her.

Look on Twitter at the short video clip interview with steve, one of the comments on their is calling for either sammy or Sallys head.

What is football coming to now

Soon it'll be 'cheering of goals is not allowed in case away fans feel offended. You are allowed to smile, but clapping is also banned as it's deemed inflamatory'.

What a set of numpties. They love shouting Scab, (and we still clap their following) and they complain about someone in a daft outfit. Precious folk these Yarkies.

Guiseley fans kicking off over a bit of banter from the mascots

Yet they are more than happy to brake seats and throw them across the stand

Crazy, if Sammy and/or Sally are sacked for this one small incident what is the world coming too?

Who's behind this alledged decision, Mr Broughton?

I was told that they kicked off because we were allowed to bring the two Stags into the ground but they were refused when they asked if they could bring their whippets into the ground . Yorkshire folk , hey

Can someone clarify who has been sacked?
Is it the mascot or the person inside the costume?
If it is the actual mascot then things won't be quite the same? Can we design a new one?
Or could we have Angus the Monkey as our mascot now Hartlepool have swapped for a Stag.

Never heard so much guff in my life. IMO, supporters vacate any right to whine about pathetic unterhosen like this as soon as they start with the abuse.

I’d suggest that they HTFU.

Well if Mansfield have sacked the person who plays Sammy or Sally (or whatever it's called) then we're as bad for sacking them as Guiseley are for complaining about it

I once went for a postman job. I got the job and after the interview'd ended the manager said, 'You'll be getting the sack in the morning when you come to work'.

I was young and took him at his word and never turned up. Went down pit instead.

 I used to go to the England games with a guy who used to be Donny Dog. He was 'removed' for attempting intercourse with one of the TV microphones at the side of the pitch. He was also banned from attending Away games by the police for fear of inciting the crowd. There were many other stories that were far too inappropriate for a family message board.
The Stags are for life, not just for cup finals. (or Liverpool).
